The projection is the spherical view of Eurasia, ie the real distances. The northern and southern parts are the same size (ie a pixel corresponds to the same number of kilometers everywhere on the map, no distortion).
This is quite nice because this map is free from distortion entirely, which would be impossible on a map of the whole world.

Yes, first we wanted to use WATK as a reference, but I'm not a fan of distortion (I hate it) so Elvain drew a completely new, accurate map and Cool-Toxic "translated" it into an EU2 map!
Although I admit, there's a slight distortion. The map is a bit "compressed" in a north-south direction because of engine limitations (maximum map size).

I've converted two units today. Well it was actually for an AAR, but I guess we could maybe use it aswell.

But I also thought that Monophysites (Armenian, Coptic should somehow be in. Perhaps instead of crusader? I'm not sure if crusaders will be in the timeframe (IIRC it was planned to end in 1031)

What about Zoroastrian in Pagans place instead. This makes conversion much easier for those parts where it was still the major religion.
Then Pagans and Polytheism could be merged into one maybe then we can get a space free for Monophysites?
And btw, I like the Islam-Christianity thing. Thus states can easier convert from one to another religion.
