Look like you guy missed an unique Ascension Peak that you could have build on.

Image a civilization that evolved to have all of it's members all linked together in one mind (biologically speaking as one organism but with many independence worker/solder all bent toward a single goal).

I can cite a few Sci-fi example of the what I am describing. But MorningLightMountain, named after a location where this personality got it's start, is the best example.

Halo Flood comes close but lack a "centralized" thinking organism that coordinate everything.
Honestly my interpretation of the Psionic perks is a group-mind.

But you could use the Bioengineering route to make your species hyper-conformant (especially since tier 2 unlocks "additional trait options" not otherwise available) and fluff it as a biological hive-mind too.

EDIT: Also the Flood absolutely have a central organizer: the Gravemind.

still would like more victory conditions....call me old school but it needs a win condition for me. Dont like playing just to make myself happy....I like to win. This is not CK2.

In other words a hive mind (like ants), wich is imo not the same as empire/species/race wide telepathy.
You can fluff it however you want. If your species has been engineered to have a bunch of conformant traits and have basically negligible divergence, that could easily be explained as a single mind.

(Also side note ants and bees and such aren't actually "hive minds", although they do exhibit what I believe is termed "swarm intelligence")

Is anyone else trying to bend time and space in a futile attempt to MOVE THE SCROLLBAR in that picture and see the description of Voidborn?

Why? I know precisely what it is. ;)

Good reference.

Maybe Stellaris could have its own Hamilton ´s DLC in the future...hive minds and much more, like family/dinastic houses (borrowed from Herbert) or interstellar trains.

Heres an idea for the biological endgame path. Allow them to eventually give the scourge a civil part of their brain and end their bloodlust. To create a cival scourge empire would be DANKKKKKKKK

Finally there are the three 'Species Endgame' paths: The biological path, the spiritual path and the synthetic path. These three paths each consist of two perks, the first of which unlocks access to the second once a number of other pre-requisites have been met. The paths are mutually exclusive, and once you start heading down one of them, the other two are locked off.
  • The Biological Path focuses on mastery over biological evolution. The first level of it gives access to more gene points and significantly cuts the cost of genemodding projects, while the second level expands the options available during genemodding in addition to further providing more points and less cost.
  • The Psionic Path focuses on developing the psionic potential of your population. The first level unlocks new psionic technologies and benefits, while the second level allows your empire to reach a higher level of existance and communicate with the beings present there.
  • The Synthetic Path focuses on the replacement of biology with machinery. The first level allows you to turn your population partly synthetic through the use of cybernetics, while the second level replaces your biological pops with robots, turning your empire entirely synthetic.

@Wiz, which of those would you say is closest to the ending of Asimov's Foundation series? Or would that be more like a combination of them?

Agreed, border range for an ascension perk? Seriously? This is a paid part of the DLC I expect better no offense Wiz.

Ascension Perks are available even in early game. Naturally you aren't supposed to get the cool stuff until later, so some perks need to be weaker.

What do you expect the One Vision perk to be in part for ? If you want a hive mind then you combine with conformist trait, fanatic authoritarian ethic, along the harmony and domination traditions.

After that you are free to choose what kind of hivemind you want, Zerg then you go evolution, Borg you go synthetic, psi... ok I got a hole for that one.

So late game ground wars will be fought between X-Men, Ethereal's from X-Com, killer machine androids from every sci-fi ever and normal races who will just max up more conventional weaponry? Nice!

Wait... eating pops? Like turning one of your citizen species into a cattle species? That's a bit... grimm, isn't it... At any rate, I'm happy the next expansion focuses more on Empire and Alliance politics, because those areas are a bit lacking. What would be awesome would be to be able to turn your Federation into an HRE ( In EUIV ) type entity; is that planned? Or maybe just be able to unify it as an Empire or True Federation. At any rate, I'm, Oh, so exited to be able to play with deeper politics and diplomacy. I thank you greatly, Paradox.:D

They already mentioned that they want to do something like that, we are just not sure yet if will be in Bank or later.

I still have a question will the race that turns themselves into Sythn's AI, will they be affected by the AI that starts the AI rebellion event crisis or will have to wait for the ascension perks to come out to find out more

The ascension perks, particularly the "endgame" ones seem great. My only question/concern is whether it's expected to fill out most traditions so you can get all eight ascension perks, or whether there will be enough slots from events and tech that that won'y be necessary. Hoping that, say, a Pacifist Xenophile doesn't have to go Supremacy and Purity for the purpose of getting access to ascension perks.

Flood uses all of it's host body to work together. My guess is gravemind is compose of all knowledge gathered from infecting other people.

MorningLightMountain is the opposite. They started with the capacity for intelligence from day 1. They didn't have to infect other people to become smarter.

MorningLightMountain is basically composed of two different organism. Immotile is basically mind/reproductive organ/holding the personality all rolled into one. While the other organism is the arm/leg of MorningLightMountain. It doesn't even have to be restricted to motile (what they are called at any rate) species and can be make up of other species like MorningLightMountain splinter did. Or they could go purging/cybernatic route like in the book.
