Five on the priest council, meaning there are four who can tell if I’m lying.
@Seers, I ain’t got all day, get your shit together and reach out.
Interesting. The priests are so far an untouched council, though. So about half (15/29) of us started in councils. It's confirmed there can be evil council members, but we haven't found any yet, and we have 4 dead baddies.
I have woken up before deadline today, huzzah!
My relative inactivity is due mostly to my wacked up sleep schedule. I get up 3 hours before deadline on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday because of my university schedule. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I tend to wake up just after it. This means that if I don't remember to vote on Monday/Wednesday nights, I'm gonna sleep through deadline. That's where my missed votes have come from for the most part.
Placeholder votes are the answer!
After going twice as wolf, the one take away from it all is how hopeless the village is. I'm sure there are people here who've been wolves many dozens of times, but the bandwagons formed and they all went for the wrong people.
So, let's have a look at some goodietwoshoes, the ones who vote, provide a reason and push some others but not too much. Unless I've missed some crucial thing, deathbywombat has been oh so helpful in providing all kinds of convenient lists and his "reads" on people and all the rest. How very helpful. Ditto Alynkio, who's also been providing all these convenient blocks of text for people to go on with.
Now, a few games ago I basically voted for no one who died and soon enough the village collapsed around me, so I'll cast a vote that matters. The frontrunners I think are me, hdk & liefwarrior. Hdk's vague protestations of having done nothing ring truer than liefwarrior's wall of vague italic denunciations. After all, a genuine villager truly has nothing to go on, so what are they meant to say?
Agree that this is a relatively villagery reaction.
I could read very fast all the cases we have today and when they're not the best we hace some to choose at least. Seeing the contenders I would love to see some pressure on Marco, so let's go with him
Vote Marco
Lazy DeChat. Maybe wolf DeChat? DeChat definitely hasn't had any attention yet.
The most devastating insult ever put to words.
I don't know, I actually kind of like it, not that Dedonus deserved it. It's not scatological or vulgar, and it's sorta original and quite evocative, suggesting a sticky-sweet soupy mass of corruption, malice, and disfigurement. Tempted to adopt it.
Grrr. No time today either. If aedan says it the sliaghtly better candidate then I guess that will have to do.
Johho is handy to have around, and he has made some interesting observations about the overall structure of the game, but his individual reads on people have been a little off (landing on Audren and Avernite, not my preferred candidates thus far). While real life can definitely intrude upon proper Werewolfing, this was pretty lazy, and possibly an example of....
More importantly, no one followed me on my vote on Spockyt day 2. It was a pretty long post that ended with a vote from me, usually that's enough to get at least a couple lazy players to go "Aedan's made a case, I'd be safe following it," at least if I haven't killed a villager recently. Often wolves are involved with this lazy voting. I think the lack of willingness to follow me there might suggest they had other reasons to not want to vote Spockyt. Now this would only provide an explanation for a small set of players, not even all baddies, but I view this as a contributing piece of evidence.
...This phenomenon. Okay with Spock as a candidate, mostly because he hasn't had attention yet, but don't know if I find him especially baddie-ish.
Yak is yakking. Killing Yakman is always sorely tempting, but probably a waste of time. Agree with Sleepy that his post 'outing' Audren is probably a joke. Wouldn't endorse killing either, and don't follow why Wagon thinks 1 of the 2 is necessarily evil. Wagon's prior reads (notably on Euro and Claude) were 100% on the mark, which indicates interest in village welfare, so I'm not reading this as baddie Wagon necessarily.
Vaguely reading LK as villagery, due to his day 1 TIE break and his general behavior thus far. Witch Agatha felt more furtive and evasive last game when she was evil. She's still not saying much, but she is new and learning the ropes, and most of her instincts so far seem legit.
Effective village play is annoyingly difficult. Werewolf is a game of information. Without information on a particular pack, it is rather difficult to play effectively - you're essentially searching for people that look suspicious without solid evidence to back those suspicions up. Once we actually find a wolf/baddie, it's much easier to make connections and pull packs apart - hence the reason for the existence of a seer/priest to make those first couple of connections.
It should be noted that one of the ways to increase village efficiency is to encourage a lot of talking in an effort to tease out connections. A couple sites have metas, so to speak, that involve hundreds of posts per day and frenetic activity. Paradox WW is slower, for good and for ill - it makes for a calmer game where people don't hate each other as much, but it allows for people to simply slip under the radar.
For example, I think wagon is a more likely villager than otherwise, because he is making reads on people and pursuing them, rather than glomming onto other cases. Accordingly, I think he's a bad lynch. I think there's about 3 or 4 other people that fit in this category for me. We have 20 players remaining; with a typical setup, only 5 or 6 baddies remain, which means we have 14-15 innocents running around. If we can isolate 4-5 people who are very likely innocents and make sure they don't get lynched, the odds of hitting a baddie rise.
Which, incidentally, is the reason I stopped voting you last round. Frustration tends to be a villager tell, in my experience (of course, it can be faked, and I'll look askance on anyone else who uses it now that it's been called out. To a lesser extent, it's why I am a touch less suspicious of liefwarrior as well than some others. We had a player called Hazbot a few years back - nice guy, but who would go off on hilarious rants whenever he was falsely accused as a villager. Something similar applies here.
Well said.
I think I've addressed most everyone. Feels a little late in the day to introduce a new candidate on a case that basically amounts to, 'seems to have been flying under the radar, hasn't had much attention yet, and I've either recently voted (Leif) or changed my mind about (Marco) about the relative sketchiness of the other people who fit this description.' But, whatever.
