What's electronic hardening?

At very close range, a Microwave weapon can be used to fry our Fire Control computers.

Electronic hardening makes them more resistant to being fried by microwaves.

Of course the best countermeasures is not letting those beam weapons anywhere near our fleet.

Ah.
Do.we have any? I noticed the mordrons haven't researched jt.

Also, how did you get the list of their techs?
Or was it SM into them?

We have researched a few levels of Electronic Hardening. We haven't researched Microwave weapons, though.

Once you've had enough exposure to the aliens, it's a normal part of the Diplomatic / Intelligence interface.

Not SM.

So they just tell you what tech they have?

No.

If they ping us with long-range RADAR, that will naturally give us some info on their RADAR. Locking a fire control system onto us will tell us something about their fire control systems. Firing a weapon at us (or just somewhere we can watch) gives us info about that weapon system. And so on.

We would need to jump through much earlier (and be fired on much earlier) in order to guarantee that we won't be in jump shock when the missiles arrive.
Or use decoy/sacrificial vessels and not overly mind they get wrecked..

High resolution imagery of the recently created wrecks and information from hostages/prisoners/surrender monkeys could also add to the dataset.

Let's not forget the intact ships that surrendered.

The Modrons have decided to destroy the early-warning RADAR satellite that outposts the Neutral Zone => Mechanus jump point.

The RADAR satellite is destroyed.

We can still see his fleet because we have a small stack of DSTS (Deep Space Tracking Stations) on the innermost comet.

He is headed for the jump to Harmony, marked with an arrow.

Meanwhile, the gunships continue the pursuit of Red 1.

I assume the goal with Red I is try and find out about the unidentified ship, and to destroy as many of the missile boats as you have time for?

Correct.

We have nearly six days until Red 2 can arrive at the Harmony => Lernea ambush site.

... so that means we've got more than three days to destroy Red 1 (if that's possible).

The Mayenne turns toward us... but there's no point in trying to engage it.

It is faster than we are, and can easily stay out of gun range.

With regards to thkse, are those coming with us to Lernea or too slow?

What are the chances he spots it?
Does it emit any thermal signature?

Red 2 will transit the Neutral Zone => Harmony jump piont in about ten hours.

After that, it will then face a 5+ day trip to the Harmony => Lernea jump point.

... assuming that they do intend a raid into the Lernea star system.

Way too slow.

If they were ten times faster, they would still be too slow.

He's very likely spotted it already.

Five Thermal per DSTS. Twenty-five Thermal in total. About as much as a single size-6 missile.

He'll need ground troops and drop ships to take it, though.

And we've destroyed four loaded troop drop-ships, earlier in the battle.
