Regarding the Arab raids and such events added, I finally checked through how much each province actually is affected. Although some provinces may get hit a bit too hard most are ok. Here is a table for those interested

Code:
Provid	Provname	starttax-event=endtax	startmanpower-event=endmp
474	Sivas 5-1	=4 3-1	=2
485	Aleppo 6-2	=4 6-1	=5
483	Adana 4-3	=1 3-2	=1
590	Angara REFERED TO BUT THE ONE BELOW IS PROBABLY THE ONE INTENDED
476	Angora 6-3	=3 5-2	=3
1609	Kastamonu	5-1	=4 3-1	=2
1611	Taurus 5-2	=3 3-2	=1
1610	Antalya 6-3	=3 3-1	=2
478	Smyrna 9-4	=5 5-2	=3
477	Anatolia	8-4	=4 5-2	=3
482	Konya 5-3	=2 3-2	=1

Getting closer to making it possible to unify the Franks into Frankish Kingdom again. As it looks now (will look closer into the facts, may change my mind) the easy (ie with event help) way of unifying will get decided with an event for Neustria (Battle of Tertry). Choosing a will lead to Austrasia unifying the Frankish Kingdom and will give you the Carolingians (when you get there of course). Choosing b will allow Neustria to unify it and since it will mean squashing Austrasia and its Mayor Domus, Pippin of Herstal (and successors) with the use of extreme force (ie war) you will not get the Carolingians, instead you will have Merovingians (fantasy ones after the historical ones are gone) all the way. Note that even if Neustria selects b Austrasia will still have the possibility to unite it and get the Carolingians.
In short, as it looks now it will be:
Austrasia unites the whole thing -> Carolingians
Neustria unites the whole thing -> Merovingians

The most basic Frankish reunification is done. Will do the "last man standing" unification today i hope. Will make an event were a FRA created in 100474 will only get Merovingians and no Carolingians.

Nice to see that there is some work being done on this once more

I truly hope so, this is a very good scenario, it deserves more work. IMHO I would love more events in the game, to make it more dynamic... Keep up the good work.

Had an idea about the war between ERE and Persia before the Moslems come. In event 100913 where Persia may go to war with ERE give Persia another ai with ferocity = yes. Additionaly add cores over all of Asia Minor and Egypt (i think they already have over Syria). The ferocity = yes itself should be enough for the ai to fight on, the cores are to persuade a human player to do it. In order to accomplish this the extra cores are removed if Persia is in peace with ERE without holding enough of that area during the relevant time. However if event 100915 happens they are lost anyway. What do you think about this?

And while I'm here. Anyone interested in helping out and making events and stuff to fill out the holes? Areas that needs attention are India, Southeast Asia and China too name a few.

I think "booster" events are also needed to ensure a historical expansion of the Muslims. They never conquer Syria and Egypt, let alone Persia or North Africa when I play ...

Not forget a proper ai. In the 632 start when they do declare war on Persia, Persia tends to fall, but they sometimes do not declare war. And in that start ERE is a wee bit too powerful, will weaken them slightly. Hopefully the current boosts they recieve will be enough once they have recieved a specific ai, and things needed for Persia and ERE have been done.

The events (Battle of Yarmuk etc.) should be able to happen of a longer timespan, too.

And ERE needs to be weakened, I agree. It would also be realistic, since they fought a very exhausting war against Persia just a few years before ...

BTW, do you need some suggestions for (Greek) city names and (more) realistic city populations in the ERE? :)

Possibly, will look into that.

Now they have at the 632 start, stability 0 instead of 2, and their starting cash has been reduced from 500 to 50. Inflation is still at 10%, maybe they should start with 15% or 20% in that start?

It would be nice.

Ok. Some cities/populations of the Roman Empire (mainly) for the 632 scenario:

Population in Red = Know for sure.

320 (Dubrudja): Dorystolon - 2000
321 (Rumelia): Odessos - 2500
356 (Bulgaria): Sardike - 4500
357 (Thrace): Konstantinoupolis - 350,000
358 (Macedonia): Thessalonike - 45000
359 (Hellas): Athenai - 8500
360 (Morea): Korinthos - 6500
361 (Albania): Nikopolis - 1500
362 (Ragusa): Dhyrrachion - 2500
365 (Dalmatia): Salona - 2000
368 (Istria): Pola - 1000
394 (Apulia): Baris - 7500
395 (Messina): Syrakuse - 12000
396 (Sicily): Panormos - 8500

(Sardinia, Corsica and the Baleares should be a part of the Exarchate of Africa)

464 (Kaffa): Chersonnesos - 5000
472 (Armenia): Theodosioupolis - 3000
473 (Kurdistan): Dvin - 6500
474 (Sivas): Melitene - 10000
475 (Trabzon): Trapesdous - 25000
476 (Angora): Ankyra - 5000 (just a fort, actually)
1609 (Kastamonu): Sinope - 22000
477 (Anatolia): Nikaia - 30000
478 (Smyrna): Ephesos - 40000
479 (Ionia): Chalkis - 2500
480 (Crete): Gortys - 3500
481 (Rhodes): Rhodos - 2000
482 (Konya): Ikonion - 18000
483 (Adana): Tarsos - 25000
1610 (Antalya): Attaleia - 20000
1611 (Taurus): Seleukeia - 12000
484 (Cyprus): Ammochostos (Salamis before, destroyed 648 AD though) - 8000
485 (Aleppo): Aleppo - 70000
486 (Nuyssaybin): Edessa (only 632 scenario), otherwise Dara or Nisbis - 8500
490 (Syria): Damaskus - 35000
491 (Lebanon): Tripolis - 9500
492 (Samaria): Kaisareia - 22000
493 (Jerusalem): Ierousalem - 18000
464 (Sinai): Aila - 1000

741 (Cyrenaica): Kyrene - 5000
742 (Quattara): Paraitonion - 1500
743 (Cataract): Oxyrhynchos - 22000
744 (Alexandria): Alexandreia - 95000
745 (Delta): Pelousion - 15000
746 (Egypt): Memphis - 10000
747 (Nile): Koptos - 12000

819 (Malta): Melita - 1000
820 (Corfu): Kerkyra - 1000

Other cities:

Roma - 100,000 (500AD!) probably 40000 to 50000 in 632.
Ktesiphon - 400,000
Carthago - 100,000 (500AD!) probably 50000 to 60000 in 632.

Most populations are "intelligent guesses", but IMO they are more realistic than the current values. ;)

Explanation:

City populations in Greece and on the Balkans are low because of Slavic incursions in most of the territory after the reign of Emperor Phocas. Populations in Asia Minor, the Levante and Egypt are still high, though not as high as in the years before the Romano-Persian war. The population of Constantinople dropped slightly from an estimated 400,000 in 500AD (first peak) to an estimated 350,000 in 622AD. Ctesiphon became the largest city in the world, with an estimated 400,000 in 622AD, while Alexandria and Antioch declined because of the war.

Ctesiphon should decline after the Muslim conquest, as should the populations in Anatolia (raids), but the cities were still comparably big.
The population of Constantinople should decrease to about 150,000 in 717 AD (loss of Egypt, Arab sieges, raids, plague).

All these significant demographic have to be handled through events ...

Nice stuff. Currently I'm doing some work on India, and there will be some changes. One thing is that we will have new countries (Kalabhras and Vishnukundins are those that are at the map at start) and better monarch-files.

Will be working on some polishing of monarch-values and the last necessary events for India south of what is Gupta in 476 today. Once that is finished I will look at south-east Asia, though all that I think will be done there may be adding a few countries, getting a few city names and such, but not much more then that I'm afraid.
