Here you go. It worked before the latest patches by the way. THis is a new file for the purpose of showing the bug, there are no other mods installed (other than achievement mod)
Can I confirm the settings you're using for milestone allocation (e.g. all at start, spread across milestones, all at end)?

I got milestone setup for all at end. I did check my save and issue still seems to be there

Your save was specifically one that I tested, and I've just tested again and confirmed that it's still working fine at this end.
Have you tried with all other mods disabled?
 
Forces me to have all tiles unlocked?

I had intended to use this mod only to reduce the upkeep costs of unlocked tiles slightly. But it seems this mod forces you to unlock every tile?
I've also encountered this as a new user of the mod with the same intention.
This is what I get with CS2 1.1.7f1 (505.28355) [5507.15729]

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Setup an empty mod playset in Paradox Mods and add & enable 529 Tiles
  2. Restart CS2
  3. From the main menu (i.e. don't start or load a game), go to Options > 529 Tiles
  4. Attempt to uncheck "Unlock all tiles"
What I expect:
  • Clicking on the checkbox unchecks the option and keeps the default tile unlocking behaviour

What actually happens:
  • "Unlock all tiles" can't be unchecked by clicking on it
  • "Unlock all tiles" can be unchecked by clicking on one of the other 3 options.

Having looked a bit more carefully now as I've written this post, I'm guessing this is probably just intended behaviour that predates the tile upkeep stuff. Prior to tile upkeep, the only reason someone would install this is because they wanted to change how the tiles unlock, so it didn't make sense to allow someone to not select anything.
Previously, you'd just disable the mod, but the addition of the tile upkeep multiplier creates a new use case for people like myself who just want to tweak the "tile upkeep multiplier".

No doubt I would've realised this had I read the whole thread first, but I didn't.

Workaround
For me, selecting the "Provide extra tiles at the final milestone" option is probably closest to the behaviour I actually want, as I can ignore the extra tiles until the very late game and still tweak the upkeep modifier.

That... I think that's an intentional feature. That part of the UI is meant as a "pick one of these four options" thing, and should probably be a drop-down list (I assume the mod-making API doesn't make that easy? or possible?). Like, you're not >meant< to have none of them selected, because >that's not the point of the mod<.

Uncertain if the creator should add a possible setting so that the mod can just nerf the tile upkeep, or if you should look for a different mod.
 
Correct, it's currently a 'pick one of these options', but there's no radio button in the mod options UI (which I'd prefer); the checkboxes are also consistent with how the game presents similar options.

And yes, all this was designed and established pre-Economy 2.0, where there wasn't even an option in the base game to unlock all tiles. I've been in discussions with a variety of users about how best to redesign things, but no consensus has yet been reached.

I'm currently looking at design options for the simple case of not doing any tile adjustments with the mod, and having the cost multiplier function available.
 
I found a problem when I open my saved, my select tiles were all delete and have to reselect it. I'm using "select initial starting tiles" this option.

After the game randomly crashed while building a interchange, when i started it again 529 tiles unlocked all tiles. no big deal i thougt and went to re lock them, saved and loaded the save again.

But after that the game allways crashes to the desktop and there is nothing i can do about it. it's the same with other saves to.

Does someone know what there could be done about that? Would be realy nice to be able to play my nice citys again :(

Loading the game without mods does not help. once a savegame was saved with Re-Lock all tiles, its bust.

Have you tried removing all mods EXCEPT 529 Tiles, and then using ONLY that to load the city? What you're describing sounds as though there's another mod breaking things. If you have tried that, then drop your logs here from that attempt (with ONLY 529 Tiles) - Player.log and 529 Tiles.log - and I'll take a look.

After many more tests, I can say with certainty that 529 tiles are not the problem. It just happened to look like that.

In reality it is a problem with No vehicle despawn.

Procedure:

Playset with all mods active
Start the game and start a new map.
Save the game immediately after loading.
Load the created save and BAM, crash back to the desktop.
The same process works fine without no vehicle despawn.

As far as I can tell, a savegame that has been "destroyed" in this way by no vehicle despawn is dead. loading always results in a crash, with or without mods etc.

Since, as far as I can tell, all settings such as audio settings, tutorials etc are reset every time, the next step will be to clean everything up and reinstall.
After that I will contact the forum of No vehicle despawn.

Just in case, I have attached the player log of such a crash.

Hey up... I've got this interesting case here... So your map tiles count is usually correct - if there are 350 map tiles, or 741, it will show that (minus those unlocked). Which is brilliant.
Now this map: https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/84671/Any doesn't have any modification there - all map tiles look regular, just a standard generated in the map editor, it's still 23*23 map tiles (529 - and 9 of them unlocked) - but for some reason your counter shows 620 left to unlock.

Would you be able to have a look into it when you get a moment? I wouldn't say it's urgent.


EDIT: the next map i loaded is showing 701 map tiles while it has just the standard 529 and no world map beyond that.... I think my game got weird after last crash. Just got back to other maps i had checked before the crash....
They seem to have different map tiles amount now....

Never mind, that's something wrong with my game now. Each time i load in a map, even the same one i just seen, the number of map tiles increases - it already shows me 1000+ to unlock (1048 ;)).

And I don't seem to know how to fix it... unsubscribe 529 tiles mod and subscribe again?

EDIT - unsubscribing and subscribing back again (even with the game restarted without the mod in-between) did nothing.... Let me know what files would need to be deleted.

How are you loading in those maps? Exiting the game and restarting, going back to the main menu, loading from within the game, other?
