My dude... that guy Johan, his thread (non discussionable) has every BETA patch there is. Get the newest one (April 20th). First you 1) install EU2 then 2) put on REGULAR patch 1.08 then 3) put on BETA patch (from April 20th) and then 4) use rar to extract everything into C:/Program Files/Strategy First/Europa Universalis 2. I know it's confusing because EU2 is an old (but great) game and there's a whole bunch of eh 'stuff' that needs to go on first before you can even play the game. It takes me about a half an hour to get every thing everything back on. Or at least all the (stuff  ) I have on. EU2=great game AoI=excellent mod for (great game). any questions?

and the rest of you shouldn't be so hard on the newcomers. this (stuff  ) is confusing. what we need is an EU3 with most as in 80-90% of all modded work on it. That would be great.

and to you hive or the guy who wants to continue work: when i play as a few countries in 1337 and 1453 I too get the crash back to windows. every other country I've tried from 1492 to the blarney end is fine though.

Hello,

I downloaded Age of Imperialism; but the flags are not working; working but they look not clean. Like Ottoman Flag looks like Mixture of blue and red colors.

You must have installed it incorrectly somehow, this is the first time I ever hear such a complaint... flags are displayed correctly for me and, I assume, for everyone else...

So my advice is that you try to re-install it, and follow the instructions in the readme very carefully.

Thank you I solve the problem. I can play the game,

Right now, however, I have one more problem :(. When I play the game; it sometimes kick me out from the game and it shows errors. Is it usual?

Thank you for your concern...

I would say that correctly installed AoI is one of the most stable mods out there. Several successful multi player games, where stability is a major concern, can attest to that.

Do you think someone can update and revise this jalopy for the brand new and improved patch version 1.09?

Would be really great!

Yo, Hive. Do think you can incorporate Ironfoundersson's Seven Years War scenario and Phillip V's Siege of Vienna scenario into your own version of EU2, AoI. They both work, I just can't seem to get u14's flag to replace UK from standard EU2, it requires more work than simpy typing in gbr over UK. The techs and very much more so the populations are extremely off, with the current pops it's more like it's 755 than 1755. And my suggestion for both, is: let 1683 start in 1661 and just call it "The Age of Absolutism" and let the Seven Years War start in 1754 when the American theatre broke out and just change it to "The French and Indian War". 1755 is historically inaccurate for both- the French and Indian War broke out the summer of 1754 and the European theatre (The Seven Years War) broke out in 1756.

But if you can't do any of that AT LEAST fixed the techs in The War of the Spanish Succession so that the industrialized, modern European countries can at least have a minimum of War of Maneuver 31, as they did historically, seeing as the tri-corner hat came into being in 1660 and the frigate ship design 20 years earlier. By 1700 everyone should have it.

And get yourself a job with Paradox. AoI? The mod of all mods, a completely redone and better version of EuII. Sheer brilliance....

Yes. AoI DOES work with patch 1.09! !00% functionaly, in fact..

It's nice that people are still playing AoI, but I'm afraid there won't be any more work on it. At least not for EU2... I simply no longer have an interest in that game. And I've been awfully busy with uni and other stuff lately... but call me when Paradox decides to make EU3, that might bring me back to modding. ;)

I am re-playing AOI with patch 1.09 but I'm experiencing a lot of CTDs. Is anyone else having this problem?
I'm only playing it now in MP (when my luck is good :( ) and I haven't got any issues like that... try reinstalling it :)

Why is it impossible to enter Karelia from Olonets in this mod?
IIRC, it's a bug in one 1.08 beta

But I installed 2.5, the latest version (over vanilla 1.09).
Because 2.5 was based on the bugged beta, it includes the bugged maps\adj-defs.csv file (in the AoI moddir). If you're running on 1.09, try changing
Code:
1470;266;normal;0;Bugfixing
1470;267;normal;0;Bugfixing
to
Code:
266;1470;normal;0;Bugfixing
267;1470;normal;0;Bugfixing
