Go see for yourself.;)

Actually, more persons than the current number has downloaded it - but after about 28 downloads, it got to my attention that something was wrong with the files...

So when I replaced the file, the counter reset.

Be sure to check out the changes in the 1419 and 1492 scenarios as well. Some pretty radical changes (which I believe is more historical) has been made to especially Spain in 1492.

Here are my recommended countries to play in 1816:
Sardinia
Prussia
United States
Japan

The 2 first is for obvious reasons; the unification of Italy and Germany. USA has the largest number of events for this period, and it's fun to play the Civil War. Japan is great because of the Meiji restoration where they get latin tech group.

Compressed (zipped) Folders Error

You need to rename the file to *.exe. The forum doesn't allow me to upload an exe file, so I had to rename it.

Doesn't work! If I right-click, hit rename, and type 'aoi.exe' or 'anythingelse.exe', it just becomes a compressed file with a name that ends in .exe! It doesn't actually change the file, just the name!

Do you, Hive, have Windows XP?

Under XP, you have to use either the DOS terminal, or something like Windows Commander to can change the file extension.
If you are unfamiliar with DOS, you should go to the Terminal, and type:

cd c:\downloads ( or wherever your file is located)
rename filename.zip filename.exe

It should work.

I might repeat my previous suggestion, that I think the best thing to do is to create an exe file then actually 'zip' it (not just rename): so you can get the better compression from whatever program you want to use, but still not have the problem with the board wanting only zip files.

Hmm... perhaps where almost all the downloads are? i.e. in the "EU2 - User made scenarios and mods" section of this board?

That would be a good guess.:)

I see your point with the renaming issue, but I think most people can figure out how to rename the file. Otherwise, they can just ask here for help.;)

But I'll probably follow your suggestion the next time I upload something.

I'm currently working on a 1520 scenario for AoI. I was initially going to use Fate's Age of Reformation, but I found a nice map of 1520 and thought "heck, why not just make my own?"...:D

I haven't come up with a name for the scenario yet though, so if anyone has a good suggestion let me know.

Speaking of suggestions: I am planning to add a new trade good, and would like suggestions to what kind of trade good it should be and which provinces it should be in. I'm leaning towards fruits, but are open to suggestions.

What about meat? cattle, sheep, goats, etc. Fish is all well and good, but some of the inland areas also have fish as the principle product, which is silly.

Hmmm.... meat is an option, yes.

But are you sure that you have seen inland provs with fish? I can't seem to recall having noticed that...

I'll have to look again to be sure, but I am relatively confident that I have seen such....

I wanna play Persia before 1617, so I better take it down:p

Erh.... I'm afraid it's not clear to me what you mean...

But Persia is playable in my 1520 scenario.

EDIT: I saw your post in the AoR thread, so I understand now...;)
But be aware that my scenario still needs work, it was made pretty roughly.
