No stars beyond.

Maybe it's cyberpunk instead of a space game?

If wasn't for the last hint (elections and tech) i would bet my gold on Antiquity game.

I can see some similarity

StarTrekTOS.jpg

I bet it was hard to them to find a picture from this space game, that does not obvisously looks like a picture from the space GS.

I hope the economy and trade system is good regardless what kind of game it is.
Preferably they will steal the systems from EU4 and V2 and combine in some smart way.

Yes! Sword and fire! Peaceful gamestyle should be forbidden for Space Romans. Only Legions, only war, only glorious Conquest. Peaceful mechanics should be left for Space Greeks and other meaningless minors. A truly Roman Space Marine burn the barbarians, burn them all! For the Emperor! Consuls!

Please. Fix'd for you.

The horizontal lines, if intentional, make it look like a picture from an old screen or monitor... It doesn't look ancient at all, so [ I think that ] it can be anything from 1945 onwards

The horizontal lines feel a lot more space age than classical to me (like a computer monitor or something) which is a shame, as I was really hoping for an antiquity game
My thoughts exactly. This character immediately gave me a "space game" vibe.

"Hair Styles" is really nonsensical as Romans had shaved hair, it isn't hard to make hair like that... As for the "dark" colour, must of the Etruscans and Sicialian people where, already, Dark skinned and with curvy nose. For the space ramble, the fact that the sky is blue is quite interesting and also, those lines can be from photo compression as it can be for "sci-fi". The big collum-ish structure behind him is another thing.

It looks like something out of a space game, with the haircut, though I have always wondered why it is presumed futuristic societies would like that with short back & sides.

I agree with the space or fantasy vibe crowd: somehow, the stylization reminds me of games like GalCiv or one of those old fantasy titles.

This could basically be anybody, if it were historical strategy, however. Could be a Nubian, if it's an ancient game.

So. Stellaris it is?

So if it is a space game, what do people think the factions should be?

I propose:

The Eagleliterate: Space Age America, race of half humans, half eagles, that mutated during a nuclear war.
The AristoCats: Space Age EU, massive bankers union that became its own country, massive wealth gap between rich and poor.
The Aztecs: as the name implies.
Chin Co: Space Age China, garbage disposal company turned intergalactic powerhouse, apparently there is a lot of waste in space.

So. Stellaris it is?

Stellaris Universalis, lead the forces of the Emperor against the enemies of mankind. Purify the Heretic and Xenos with righteous fire.

Oh wait, I got a bit eager there. But it would be amazingly fun with a character based game in a WH40k setting, I'll go back to my corner and dream about that as well
