I'm not exactly a fan of this art style either, but it's what you can expect from a small developer. As long as the story behind it is good it's fine to me. And I have zero doubt that HBS will deliver on that one.

Also, that K2 in the vid makes up for a lot:

Art and music are the most subjective of all subjective things. A masterpiece of a certain style is still often awful to a person who dislikes that style.

I wish I had a better vocabulary for these things. Personally I very much like this sort of "painting with moving camera and or backgrounds" style. It suggests a sort of vague grandeur. If that made the slightest sense to anyone.

I think the style of the traler is very fitting and sets a good mood for a turn based BattleTech game. Now, if it was a real time action game or a shooter then I would agree with you.
 
When she first starts to tell her story, I was immediately waiting for her to ask me for my bank account number, so I could help her get the vast wealth of her country to safety and receive a nice fee for doing so.

Only so many "Greetings I am a displaced Andurien noble" messages through the HPG I can actually stomach before I decide to help bomb the place like it was 1SW again.

Some people are not made for mercenary business. There is always a bunch of displaced nobles who keep banging about how they got unjustly dethroned. :p
