Correct me if I’m wrong, but It sounds like a CS1 style residential paint build, ie just a few houses. I was kind of hoping with beachfront properties dlc, it would come with.. beaches that we can design and customise. Expand on the ideas from CS1? :(

Let’s hope it at least changes the texture paints around the district so that it turns into sand or soemthing please.
It's so difficult to do it with the tools the game has.... They could make it like the industry: A building next to road for access and a few services (wc, lockers, bar) and then a polygon decal with a sand texture and instead of cows and chicken, people, umbrellas, towels on the sun, groups playing beach games. The area can have park features in term of effect to the city.

But instead, we just have some houses in two styles that in a few time we could get for free from the Parados Mod Workshop.

Do we actually get beaches as a terrain with this update?
Yeah, I hope so. I was flummoxed to start working on the terrain to create a beach coastline and it just turned green under the water instead of even a gravel or sand texture while in shallow water. In CS1 you would at least get a water edge texture depending on the theme. Beaches are a natural feature that should be readily available through editing. I hope they don't paywall this feature using beach properties as a key to having a basic beach texture within a couple of terrain levels of water.

With the Code Tools, you can show off your coding skills and create Code Mods to meet your heart's desire!
Nice, very excited to see official tooling coming!
There doesn't seem to be documentation for the CS2 code (API, for lack of a better term) on the wiki or mentioned in this announcement. Is this coming as part of the update?

There are three forthcoming Dev Diaries where you're more likely to get an answer:
This week we will also release three Developer Diaries on the topic of Modding;
19th of March: Dev Diary #1: Paradox Mods in Cities: Skylines II
20th of March: Dev Diary #2: Map Editor
21st of March: Dev Diary #3: Code Modding

My question would be whether there are something like real beaches with props (parasols, deck chairs, beach chairs, blankets, etc.) or something like beach promenade buildings included in the DLC?

GeForce Now, maybe able to access this, since my steam account and geforce now (because i have geforce experience and they are interconnected idk the sensical thing behind this) they maybe able to be connected.
That would be the reasonable thing to do along with the switch from Steam Workshop to a proprietary modding platform, but CO said a while ago that Paradox Mods won't be supported on GFN, so now I'm just trying to have them confirm that GFN users will be left behind once again even with the full price Steam version of the game.

For all the people saying that beaches are coming like @Potoroo

Why are there no beaches in the actual in-game photos?

That's a good point. The last screenshot looks frankly ridiculous with the grassy beach area.

To be honest, I feel bad for the CO. It seems 90% of this community can't read, can't hear and can only yell "fraud, robbery, money stealing, liars, bastards!"
Everyone was waiting for modding support, and now when it comes out - everyone spits.
Everyone was waiting for bugfixes and optimization improvements, and now when it comes out - everyone spits.
Everyone wanted some new content, but now when it comes out - everyone spits. What's wrong with you, people?

> modding support

You mean beta support for code mods and maps?

> Bugfixes and optimization

To be determined, haven’t seen much yet

> new content

This was a planned paid DLC and part of the ultimate edition. Just nearly two quarters late and it’s a very light content pack

Let me know what you think though, I obviously don’t know how to read, I am trying to learn though

What has come out since launch?

I am certainly not going to buy any DLC until the game is improved.

Let's see what's in the free patch. Hopefully not just some bug fixes and minor performance tweaks. The game needs serious improvements to simulation, balance and gameplay.

And what's the difference? You can officially create, publish and subscribe mods. BETA - means that there still may be some problems, but it is usable and fully supported. But not to hear all these "you released buggy piece of shit, give me my money back" comments, they said it is BETA. So when devs released buggy base game - y'all cried about they didn't release it as "early access" (which is basically beta). And now, when they want to release beta stuff, just because the need your feedback on it, and it still unfinished, but they don't want you to wait - you still crying because it is beta. Really?

The first DLC for CS1 was released after 7 monts. And first DLC for CS2 is gonna be released after 6 monts. So what's wrong? At first, you wanted devs to work on bugfixes, not on the new content, and now you want them not to work on the new content? What?

If you don’t know the difference between releasing modding and a small portion of modding in a beta state, I seriously doubt that this conversation will be beneficial to either of us
