And once again not a word on console. It’s not even on the 2024 roadmap. What happened to Spring 2024? Does this mean you not even communicating yet another delay. Did you not learn from last years last minute delay where you crushed the hype and anticipation of an entire segment of your player community?? Not once have you treated console players as a priority. You actually treat console like we don’t exist.

Hi friend. I know the lack of concrete communication is frustrating. I agree with you, they should at least mention that they’re continuing to work on it but that also seems trite and insignificant.

I would focus on two things:
1) they’ve said performance has increased on low end rigs
2) real progress is being made on the editor
3) they’ve now delayed ports and bridges which will free up even more time to improve performance and the editor
4) all of the above signals positive conclusions for consoles by the end of the year

Uhm... so really only 10 North American and European residential buildings each? Might just be me, but this seems far too few. I really expected more.
Honestly expected this to include more, such as:
  • A new map theme
  • 1 or 2 new maps
  • More residential assets
  • beachfront commercial properties
  • beachfront parks and landmarks
  • Actual beaches

Let’s see the detailed patch notes, maybe there’s some stuff in there? But 20 base assets feels like the number of base residential assets that shipped with the game (maybe even more). From that perspective, this is good.

Mariina told us what the trade off would be in WoTW 4:

Depending on how you interpret the statement about acceptable performance and the fact that the first assets pack is coming next week, console release could be closer than people think.

I think this is very true, especially if those resources (dev time) are re-deployed to the Editor and further Performance improvements.

I also hope that they changed their minds and are working with GeForce on availability of paradox mods on the platform. Cloud gaming is the future, especially for an GPU and CPU heavy game as this.

Quite optimistic of you to think this. They are already trying to pad this DLC out by pretending 2 palm trees are 4 and 20 unique assets are 60.

I think if they had more to offer, they would be the first to highlight it, probably with inflated and disingenuous numbers as well
I love how communication has gone into full blown politician mode now to save their blushes. It’s funny they consider the life cycle of a tree as each new individual type of tree, u have to admire the cheek of the person that thought it up :)

I really wish they didn’t tie DLC to patch releases: this is not going to go well which I fear will shadow a lot of the good work that CO devs has gone in to fix this things. People will say rightly or wrongly it’s a blatant cash grab when they already profited from millions.

The package seems quite disappointing for what it could offer in qualitative terms (beaches with related services, shops, amusement parks such as beach volleyball, etc...) even if its definition refers mostly only to residential properties, both in quantitative terms (the number of buildings is very limited).

The only short term hope is that the new MOD system works, which is the only thing that can save this game in the short term...We hope...

A shame for those like me who purchased the "Ultimate edition" that the first DLC was moved practically for the second time and to the end of the year 2024

At least we can also know something about the regional packages given that it was expressly stated that these would be made available for free upon release of MOD support? Thanks

What do you call Waterfront zones then?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but It sounds like a CS1 style residential paint build, ie just a few houses. I was kind of hoping with beachfront properties dlc, it would come with.. beaches that we can design and customise. Expand on the ideas from CS1? :(

Let’s hope it at least changes the texture paints around the district so that it turns into sand or soemthing please.

A zone type. Not a beach lmao
That's what I read too - a zone to specify that beach properties should develop. If the zone also changes the land texture to look like a beach, that should be mentioned specifically in the release notes I would think. Otherwise it seems like coastal areas will keep the current presentation of grass right up to the water's edge.

Also wanted to mention based on previous C:S2 marketing that this image is highly deceptive - we all know the actual game looks nothing like this.
