I can't replicate your issue and the log shows there's nothing wrong with your conversion:

If I had to guess I'd say you've enabled some other mod alongside with it - possibly another conversion or something map-changing, that's messing it up.

If not, I'd try verifying the integrity of your installations. Also, Royal court is not required for anything. If all fails, delete both the conversion and the converter, get a fresh copy, and try converting again.

I have worked and made the converter compatible with RICE, what do i do now? do i send you the individual files or the whole patched converter? where and how do i send it to you? and one more non related thing, how do i make cultures start with a capital letter? is it in localization or something?

Are you familiar with github? If so, a pull request is easiest all around. If not, zip up what you've got (either the individual files or the whole thing) and attach it to a post here.

I am not familiar with GitHub, here are the files, however i am having difficulties making the new RICE cultures start with capital letters (it might be simple but again i am a beginner), would really appriciate if you told me where that is located

You need to add them to localization files. Specifically CK3toEU4\blankMod\output\localisation\converted_cultures_l_english.yml, and also french, german and spanish.

I've taken a look, and this is incomplete. The blankMod folder you packed is identical to our own - possibly by accident?

Cultures:
You haven't added new cultures to appropriate culture files inside blankMod/output/common/cultures.
Then, you will also need to provide localizations for all new cultures and religions.

Religions:
New stuff like harranism also needs to be defined somewhere in common/religion of blankMod and if it's truly a new religion, needs appropriate religious icons in GFX. I strongly suggest you don't introduce new religions and map to something approximate we already have.

In any case, I'd say you're halfway there, and if you need help or advice, just ask.

Thanks for building this.

I'm on a mac, but am using a VM to try and convert my game to EU4 and then send it back. I have your converter, steam, EU4 and CK3 downloaded. I get as far as 4% and then it says 'Unexpected number of zipped files in the savegame.'

Log attached. Savefile is taking a long time to upload so I'll send this and can upload save file if you need it.

Update: I tried it with an older save file and it got to 15% and then said 'Bad Allocation'. I'm guessing it's a mixture of mods and/or mac and/or using a virtual machine problem. Maybe this just is too ambitious to get to work.

Please upload the save in question. Zip it first.

Can't replicate:

If unpacking the save is an issue on your end, try running ck3 in --debug_mode and resaving, which should produce a text-only save, that won't need to be unpacked nor decrypted.

Maybe the problem is also then that I'm trying to do it on a virtual machine, and that's then causing unknown problems with the converter.

I will try your proposed solution. Thanks for looking into it.

Did a fresh install, everything worked! Thank you very much!

I can't replicate, it converts for me without issues. Try deleting and redownloading the converter to start with, also do a steam verify of both ck3/eu4 installations.
I've re-downloaded multiple times but the converter still exits at 'crafting flags'. This 'flags.tmp' empty folder is created when I convert, is this related to the problem?

That's weird, the cultures folder in common should have a "!.RICE_cultures.txt" file and the religions folder should have a "12_RICE_religions.txt" file

It's possible it can't write to disk, indicating antivirus issue. Try whitelisting it.
