Why does my converted Italy, which has the italy in game eu4 tag have these random(and terrible) national ideas instead of the regular(very good) italian ideas View attachment 1252325 Can anyone please help me find a way to fix this somehow? I cant form italy because I am already the ITA tag. My ck3 culture was cisalpine and it converted to Umbrian, I found some dynamic national ideas for italy in the mod files but they are completely different than the trash ones I got which I cant seem to find anywhere.
Well, those look like standard latin ideas for all italian minors. Try deleting ITA_ideas from the mod's ideas folder and reconvert.

There doesnt seem to be a ITA_ideas in the ideas folder at all, unless I'm missing something, issue remains with fresh conversion
You're missing something.

It's there all right. File path in title.

I have a small question:

Where can i look up how randomly generated cultures will convert to EUIV. especially considering Culture Groups.

I am Currently doing a Mega Campagin from IR to hoi4 and want to know which cultures CK3 spews out will be considered part of the Germanic group by the Converter and which wont.

This is done according to primary heritage. If there are multiple, then first one is used.
For more info and altering, see: CK3ToEU4\configurables\heritage_map.txt

Thank you very much, assuming i would like to edit this i just need to basically Strg X Strg V the Heritage from one to another culture group, right?

Yup, it's all there meant to be hand-edited as needed. Couldn't be simpler, just watch out for typos.

Hello, I am encountering an issue with my converted game.

About ten or so in-game years, I encounter a CTD without fail. There is no specific date that it occurs on, but the general timeframe is accurate. When I check the error log, I find that it always returns this statement many times over:
[triggerimplementation.cpp:27226]: Script error! Script Object Token: "economic_ideas", Error: Trigger condition set on the wrong scope: Scope.GetCountryTag().IsValid()

I've tried a few quick vanilla games and clean reinstalls to see if this is some sort of steam or vanilla issue, but I cannot recreate this problem without the mod.

The two issues are unrelated. PDX never logs anything useful to error.log when it crashes any game.

1. For economic, what you're probably seeing is some trigger or effect or literally anything relating to economic ideas which asks "Am i <someTAG>" where someTAG probably doesn't exist due to it being a conversion and the tag is undefined. It's hard to pinpoint this seeing as you see this issue, but I've never seen this before, and it changes nothing of consequence.

2. As for crashing, that's a persistant problem across many of the games which is next to impossible to debug. Some (very likely vanilla) reform, some effect, some decision somewhere, with a MTTH of something (so it's never any single date) will cause the game to crash because something gets divided by zero or who knows what. And since PDX doesn't acknowledge bug reports related to mods, stuff like this doesn't often get fixed.

Better logging would solve a ton of these problems, but we'll see if EU5 will implement such debugging.

I see, well that is a shame. I am assuming then that this is not an issue that can be fixed. Thanks for the explanation. I have had a lot of fun using your converters. It seems that this mega campaign is done.

Can somebody please give explanation how institution and idea selection works on dynamic setting?
It's based off original ck2toeu4 converter by PDX. Unlike vanilla which is like "Renaissance always spawns in Italy, printing press in germany..", dynamic is more loose "Renaissance needs a high-dev province anywhere in the world, printing press needs paper".

Ideas are similar, portugal is hardcoded to go exploration but on dynamic anyone with some sea access and ships can pick it.

It's a more random world.

The faq is in the converter folder of every converter. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks for the report, a forum migration must have broken it. I've attached the FAQ to the post again.

Hey, I've been having problems translating my CK3 save into EU4. The main problem seems to be that EU4 doesn't recognize the save file so I can't load up the game when I open EU4. I've uploaded my CK3 save and the log.txt files but I can't seem to find the errors.txt file. Please let me know if there's anything else I can provide.

I'm sorry but:
1. The log.txt you uploaded is empty, as if you hadn't run the conversion.
2. EU4 doesn't recognise the save file? Converters produce a mod, not a save file.

Have you even run the converter? Did it produce a mod? Have you added that mod to a new playset in eu4 launcher, selected the playset from the launcher hope page and started it?

Hey Zemurin, really appreciate your work. A few months ago I saw a post by you saying that more book marks+ was compatible with the converter, but today I tried to convert a game and got errors. If the mod is no longer supported I understand, however if it is I will link the log here. Thanks!
