Will there ever be an option to activate ToG-kind rebellions? I was pretty annoyed by the old rebellion system and playing as a Wildling, it's making the game unnecessarily annoying. I can understand that you guys are trying to keep compatibility with the people who don't own ToG, but is it possible to integrate an option to de/activate rebellion mechanics?

Honestly they should just use TOG to its full extent. There is no reason for us to limit ourselves in order to accommodate the handful of people who are too cheap to get a really fantastic expansion, even when it is on sale for only a few bucks.

Actually, thats a bad idea just in concept. "Screw whoever doesnt have DLC X" is not a good plan for a modder. Just that in general right there, however Paradox Games are different. This aint EU3, if you dont own a DLC, you still have the "files", if you dont own SoI the AI Muslims can still use those features. If you dont own TOG, the AI can still raid, simply you can not. Although raiding seems broken anyway since my wildlings couldn't actually raid, even when i toggled raid-mode.

But just to get to the rebellion mechanic, its dumb. Every few years, you get rebellions beyond the wall. You could have zero revolt risk, they still show up. What is the damn point of this? Is it supposed to simulate the nature of wildlings being all "you aint my leader"? Or is that a white walker simulation, i.e. them "attacking you"? Cause there is no solid reason for revolts when you are king beyond the wall and every few years you gotta play whack-a-rebel. The south is entirely unaffected by this, but once you go beyond the wall, revolts everywhere, for no real reason. Makes playing a wildling a chore to be honest. I just hope there isnt a similar mechanic for the stepstones when Essos is released -.-

It's not about being cheap, it's about prioritizing feature set versus cost. Fifteen USD for a small handful of new or overhauled features isn't good value, no matter which way you try and spin it.

At any rate, though, I'm having quite a bit of trouble with wildlings too. I get the whole inheritance shindig, where they'll only follow strong rulers, but I'm not liking how even a strong ruler has to go and beat down his subordinates with some regularity to insure their loyalty.

Everything about the wildings is poorly done and poorly implemented, with the virtually sole exception of the 'wilding' trait itself, which is clever, in its general malus and same bonus.

Wildlings honestly need a complete rebalance... they are completely and utterly useless just sitting there. They can't talk the wall on their own.. and even if they do the North or any other kingdom will march right back with 10x the numbers and retake it.

I really want to get into this mod, but I'm having trouble installing it. I don't have a mod folder in my Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/ folder. I use Steam, which probably explains my troubles.

If you have the Documents/paradox/ck2 folder already set up, just go there and make a new folder called "mod" and simply put the mod in there, the mod folder as well as the .mod file. Then you can select it afterwards in the launcher.

Thanks! I was confused because my computer claimed that the .mod file was a movie clip. Thank you.

Not sure why I can't create the Kingdom of the North in my game. Playing as Jon Snow, I am independent I already rule all the north, I have 3 lordships, I am not at war, and have plenty of prestige, piety and money. It annoys me because the other Lord Paramounts have created titular kingdoms but for some reason when I look at the option it has red X next to "kingdom of the north has no holder", it doesn't have a holder! I don't hold it, and no one else does, so I am confused, maybe it is bugged.

You could make that argument when it first released but it isn't really valid now that Steam is putting it on sale for 75% off.

I've downloaded the Mod with the zipped download for Mac and i've got the 'A game of Thrones' folder, 'A Game of Thrones.mod' and a 'CK2GOT0472' folder all in my mod folder

is this the right setup? whenever i try to play the mod it keeps crashing before it even loads up

Has anyone wrote something like a "Getting Started" guide or video for this mod? I'm utterly overwhelmed, and while I'm going through the motions of playing, I've no idea if what I'm doing is a good idea or not within the framework of this mod.

Playing as Walder Frey was probably a bad choice as a starter chap, as there's like 6 million children all wanting something or other, and even though you send them all off somewhere else, or banish them, or get them killed in one sided fights, there's such a starting base that more and more just keep popping up, and then their their grandkids......arrrgggh! Good luck with paying all those damned dowrys too!

You're best chance is probably the FAQ thread in the Citadel forum. Just search for "+citadel +AGOT" and look for that thread. It has links to Guides and stuff.
There's also a small manual in the game folder. Several LPs on Youtube.
