there is no VIP 1.4

there is VIP 0.4 and 0.4B (which work with Victoria 1.03C) and now VIP 0.45 (which works with Victoria 1.4)

i'll check the VIP 0.4 and 0.4b links, they might be down.

EDIT - updated the links for 0.4 and 0.4B for Victoria 1.03C. They now link to correct download source.

None at all that I know of. Aside from OHGamer being involved with both that is.

VIP was started after the release of Victoria and is a fan-made modification adding and changing various parts of the game that are openly moddable.

Victoria: Revolutions is an expansion for Victoria created by Paradox that, among other things, increases the time range of the game. Also, it alters aspects of the game that cannot be changed by ordinary users.
 
the most recent Revolutions patch is 060822 right? thats the only one I get from the GG downloader and it only patches to v.1.0. so I'm starting to wonder if something might be wrong....

The latest patch can be somewhat difficult to locate. See this thread for more info.

Note the unofficial patch is just that - unofficial - and therefore would not be on Gamersgate in any case. The content of the unofficial patch will likely be included in the next official patch whenever it is released.

There has, however, been only one official patch, and that is already included on the CD version.

Unless I am horribly mistaken, if you want to patch to 1.4, you only need to put the 1.4 patch on the game, as it includes all the changes previous patches developed.

They do not have to be applied sequentially.

If you want to play an older version though, not sure if any other versions of 1.01 or 1.02 are even available other than these listed here.

Note that the usual definition of "vanilla" is not "unpatched" but "no expansions, mods, or unofficial patches". i.e. Victoria 1.04 is still "vanilla Victoria".

If the no-time limit mod you want to use has its own thread, then I suggest posting there.

Otherwise, which mod are you trying to use?
 
Anybody have a fix for the Polish pop deficiency?

This deficiency -- pops at about 1/4th of their historical levels -- was pointed out by several people immediately after Revolutions was released, but the problem persists. In my current game as Krakow, all of Congress Poland united has only 900,000 people. Even when all of the Polish pops are added from Russia, Austria, and Poland, the total Polish population is only about 3.6 million -- much less than Sweden! Definitely not right here. Any help with a fix to set the figures to more historical levels would be appreciated. It would be fun to play as Poland, but just two or three of the top German provinces have as many Germans as there are Poles in the world, so there is little potential.
