Are there any new mods out/old ones dead? I think Victoria is a pretty good game and it's a shame noone wants to play it anymore.

VIP released 0.45 for Victoria 1.4 and is currently working on a Revolutions-compatible VIP, to be released this spring

where can i get the lattest official hotfix for revolutions?
The latest official version is 2.01; that is already on the CD version and the download from GamersGate. If you downloaded from GG before the patch was integrated (at least several months ago) then just re-download. The only other fixes are OHGamer's unofficial hotfixes (which everyone really should be using).

But do i have to buy Victoria:revolutions again to have the 2.01 version?

and is the pop bug fixed on this version(2.01)?

2.01 is the default version if you bought the download from Gamersgate anytime after Oct 2006. If you bought it the first month or so after Revolutions was released then the patch is in one of the files in Gamersgate that you need to access. And no you do not have to repurchase to download again. Gamersgate recognizes your account and allows repeat downloads.

Load up the version of Revolutions you have. If you have 2.01 it will say so in small red text at the top right corner of the loading screen.

And the POP bug issue for multiplayer is still in the "to be fixed stage."

Editing VIP Revolutions

I got a new computer. I reinstalled Victoria. Then I went to the GamersGate website to download Revolutions again (which I had purchased last year).

I tried to edit the Austrian political parties but the computer prevented me from saving the changes, saying it was only a read only copy. I saved the changes in a new file and replaced the AUS_party file and started the game.

Unfortunately when I started a game as Austria it did not list a ruling party.

Does Revolutions prevent changes to the game?

Revoultions is not VIP - that is a separate mod for base Victoria

On the read-only files. You can change the properties of the file from Read Only to Modifyable by going to view/customize this folder/general and de-selecting the highlighted "read-only" box. Then you'll get a confirmation pop-up, select yes and it will change the files from Read-only to editable.

VIP 0.45 will remain after VIP Revolutions ?

At this point I think we will be going to a new numbering system for the Revolutions version of Victoria, since there are so many changes between the two base versions.

VIP 0.45 will most likely be the last non-Revolutions version of VIP. How much further support will be given to it once VIP:R 0.1 comes out will depend on the amount of time the developers of VIP have while also working on the Revolutions version, but based on feedback from players the vast majority of them have indicated they either have or will be getting Revolutions once VIP:R 0.1 is released, so that is where the bulk of our attention will of necessity have to be based.

It's so cheap. VIP with Revolutions, it will be terrible. :)

Thank you and another question

A problem-Help!

In february, I changed computer. I choosed to not install Victoria direct. I wanted to do some other things...

Now I am ready to make my private life non existing again and try to install it. Fine, I install Victoria 1,00. But I then couldn´t install Victoria revolutions, after a while I succeded in download it (even if it didn´t look the same as last time I downloaded), but I couldn´t install it. They say I don´t have the right to?

Anyone who knows why? Do I have to install all patches before I install revolutions?

Help!

Should have posted this in the tech support forum. What is the publisher and language for your Victoria? Some are not recognized by the Revolutions installer. Check this thread for more info: http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=279135

You shouldn't need to install any patches to get Revolutions to install. However, if you want to play the 1861 scenario you must either install the 1.04 patch before Revolutions or install OHGamer's hotfixes after (http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=264737 which I recommend installing anyway).

Suddenly it worked...

Thanks for the answer, but suddenly it worked... I have no idea why, but it did. Yes, I been thinking on putting the hotfix on, but the way of doing it seems difficult (yes, I´m bad on computers). You know if there will be an patch about that soon?

The hotfix is quite easy to apply; you just unzip (or unRAR) into your Victoria: Revolutions folder. If you have problems you should post in the hotfix thread. You might want to make a backup copy of your game folder beforehand just in case; this is always a good thing to have anyway to save reinstalling if you have problems later. I wouldn't expect a new official patch anytime soon; they'll probably be busy with EU3 and HoI2/Doomsday/Armageddon issues for the next few months.

I believe I have seen a 1815 mod being developed for Victoria once. Was it just my imagination or does such a mod realy exist?
