A general that has the Armor Officer personality trait, where he gains 100% experience for leading armor, will he still get a plus 100% experience gain as a Field Marshal, assuming there are enough armor divisions in the armies he is leading?

yes he does. in general, the 1/2 strength effect to general traits as a field marshal applies only to grindable or selectable traits. not to personality traits. otherwise, you could simply promote your old guards to field marshal and suffer lessened penalties from their reduced experience gain.

i'm not 100% certain on this next bit, but as i recall, the field marshal doesn't care how much total armor is under him for the purposes of gaining division-specific traits. as i recall, he gains 1/4 of the xp that the generals under him would have gained, and only afterward are xp multipliers applied. so a fm leading 3 armies of pure inf and 2 of split 10 armor, 14 inf gets 2 armies worth of xp going toward armor expert, despite the fact that only 1/6 of the divisions under him are armor and not the necessary 2/5.

more importantly, and this is something i am certain of, a field marshal leading a leaderless army, or leading an army whos general does not gain any xp for commanding too many troops, does not gain any xp either. but despite the fact that a fm leading a general with 400 divisions under him will, similar to the general, gain no xp, he still does provide 1/2 his stats to the army, despite the general not providing any at all.

Does that refer to the country-wide experience (the three numbers at the top, capped at 500), or to unit (division, ship, air wing) experience (green/regular/trained/seasoned/veteran)?
It is the former, country-wide experience.

It seems to me Paradox themselves did not know this either:

In patch 1.9.0 they
Code:
- reduced air [B]wing[/B] experience gain from 2nd and 3rd level reformer air chief
(from +5/+10/+15% to +5/+7,5/+10%)

presumably because they also
Code:
- reduced experience gains for airwings to 5% from 10% in air doctrines

i.e. because they thought air wings were getting too elite too soon.
So they nerfed the guy who doesn't affect air wing experience gain. Lovely.

The lag fix for naval mines made me think. Is there any way to see what ships mines are sinking? The number of ships sunk and damaged is visible in the region but is there any way to work out what has been sunk by mines? Also, does anyone know for how long sunk/damaged values are calculated? They seem to change over time. Thanks in advance!

Well, there is naval losses list:
View attachment 660845
but I doubt that you can get relevant info out of it. Only when you now there were no battles/air raids happening and notice something new has been sunk.

[DLC La Résistance]
Is there any way to know the list of available operative spies without having a vacant slot?

I'm pretty sure that they are rolled very soon before the new slot becomes available. In my experience, if I re-load a save ~10 days before the new spy becomes available, there will be a different list of options every time (2-3 days isn't enough though). This should mean that the ones that will become available to you are not generated yet, as it takes 30 days after you have a free slot before you can recruit/see them. I don't see how you could see operatives that have not even been generated yet.

Historical spies are pre-defined. This means that they could theoretically viewable before, but I find it hard to imagine that Paradox created a way to just view some of them in game.

I’ve all ready seen it, but I think it may possibly be outdated in Battle for the Bosporus (and will be in No Step Back). Are there any new operatives added in Battle for the Bosporus (this was sort of the main question, should have probably just asked this).

I found them in the game files. They seem to be defined in the history files of each country, with the code 'create_operative_leader'. It looks like only the countries from the Battle for the Bosporus got any additions:

Bulgaria:
Vladimir Zaimov

Greece:
Patrick Leigh Fermor

Turkey:
Ruzi Nazar

Edit: spelling.

Ok thank you.

Which DLCs do I need inorder to add flametanks to my division templates?

I have all the expansions except La Resistance and Battle for the Bosporus (i.e I do have No Step Back!).

I can build light tanks armed with flamethrowers but they are just catagorised as regualr light tanks, and I assume that standard light tanks and flamethrower light tanks will have different modifiers for terrain etc.

no step back.

in the drop down menu under the name, one of the categories should be flame tank. select it and save the new flamethrower tank design. you will be able to add flamethrowers to your divisions.

As Germany, I invaded Belgium. Then called my satellite The Netherlands in to be able to advance from the North.

After Belgium capitulated (war is still on because Britain joined the other side) it went to The Netherlands even if I controlled all the Belgian land. I can't figure out the reason for this.

Ok, these questions were certainly answered somewhere but I can’t find it.

I just discovered “prepare collaboration government” increases the level of compliance when you occupy/conquer the state. I’m going to use this!

1. If I do this early, does the compliance value stay or is there a decay (if I delay invasion for some reason)?

2. Does running the mission multiple times on one country stack the compliance value, further reducing my need for a large garrison?

It stays.

Yes, up to 90% IIRC. Gets more expensive each time, tho.
