Is the Reichskommissariats for The Netherlands and Belgium broken? Every time I try to form them it just causes their territory in Europe to revert back to them. And I have to conquer it again. No enemy Divisions are spawned.

I don't understand the Industrial Land Appropriation decision. It seems like a terrible choice. You permanently lose 2.5% war support and stability for getting 1 more building slot? Seems like a terrible option.

I don't understand some of the foreign volunteer SS recruitment decisions. It gives you three options for each one. But sometimes two of the options are exactly the same. Or one is clearly better and there's no reason to choose the other two.

Another thing I don't understand with the SS volunteer Division recruitment is this. On the Norway one it says that if you choose the compromise option, you will be able to recruit a Denmark Division later. However, this never happens in my experience. Is the description just wrong?

Picking the compromise one in either country should change the first option in the other country to the "5. SS Division Wiking".

Hoi4 is played in wildly different ways; whether something is terrible or better often comes down to play style and is not a good fit for quick answers and questions. If you want to present your opinion (or are looking for a discussion) about the merits of a game decision, better open a separate thread.
 
Do V1 missiles actually do anything? I have them launching from France in Pas de Calais and targeting London. And they haven't done a single point of damage.

I'm not even getting a SS recruitment decision for Denmark. It's completely missing.

I don't know if this is a bug or what but it's really annoying. Whenever a frontline gets broken into two pieces or more - the battleplan AI seems to assign some of your Divisions to one half and the other to the other half. However, the one half no longer has an Offensive order so they just sit there and do nothing.

This also happens when your Army gets surrounded like in North Africa when it happens to me. The frontline breaks into multiple pieces and then half the troops just sit there and do nothing. This becomes a disaster if I'm not paying attention to that front at that time.

Can someone take a pic of the Denmark SS Volunteer decision and the different options and the troops it creates?

Do you have to conquer a place to get access to their SS volunteer Divisions? Because that's not historically correct. Many volunteer Divisions were formed from countries that were not conquered like Sweden and Russia and India.

Can someone tell me which version of the game still has the Pearl Harbor Gambit focus? I would like a mod that reinstates it. Maybe with some modification.

Not really; it takes very particular circumstances for rockets to do anything at all. I reported a series of bugs just now:
For now, due to the first bug, you should only build one level of rocket site per state. Due to the third bug, you can only bomb regions where you get 100% coverage/mission efficiency (edit: maybe 51% is already enough, i.e. possibly V2). So you need V3 rockets just to hit London and even then only at a rate of a single rocket per sortie (3 per day). This would be equivalent to ~10 strategic bombers, and much more vulnerable against air defense and interception.
I'm not even getting a SS recruitment decision for Denmark. It's completely missing.
It should be visible when
  1. you have Heinrich Himmler as country leader and
  2. Denmark is either a puppet of you, at war with you or doesn't exist anymore. In the latter case you still need to be at war with anyone.

I've been experimenting with Rocket Interceptors and I have to say they seem almost useless just like the Guided Missile sites. The first Rocket Interceptor (ME 163) has terrible range and terrible reliability (which is historical though to be fair) so they perform horribly. Because of how air combat works and the mission efficiency mechanic. They are really cheap though. So I thought maybe if I upgraded their reliability and range they would actually become effective and worth it. But no even upgraded they're basically worthless. So I don't really see a use for them.

Default UI: 1.0x
Space marine template for defense: 1 Heavy TD+ (4 Medium SPAA) + whatever (2 art-14inf)
Space marine template for both attack/def, 40width: 3 medium tank, (4 Medium SPAA) + whatever. (12 MOT/Cav...)

German infantry in vanilla: 9 inf + 3 Art (27width) , support Art, support AT... very good against weaker enemy that don't have air superiority.

Make sure you use Rocket Interceptors for intercept in friendly land only. I don't use and don't see anyone report good thing about them.

Rocket Interceptors on intercept only might have some success against very local unescorted strategic bombers. Still, if you have the spare industry to build them, then you are probably winning and do not need them.

A space marine division is usually an infantry division with a heavy tank destroyer in it. It is economical to build and due to a probable unintended mechanic, the armor of the single HTD battalion gives to much protection to the division.

A space marine division for amphibious invasions is a marine division with a heavy tank battalion added to it, to help it breakthrough the beach.

I have seen posts of other space marine types, but the two above are the two I have seen mentioned the most. They are OP against the AI. Against an experienced human, they will counter them easy enough.

Also, it doesn't seem possible to me to create a historical sized navy without abandoning most of your other production. At least that's how it's been for me when playing as the United States.

Is it not possible to destroy a Canal if you're not the United States or UK? I know they have the option to but I took it over and I'm not seeing it as an option for myself.

Does anyone know what the historical Army/Air/Navy doctrines are for Italy? I want to pick the right one for historical roleplay.

You can only see the decision when your are at war but it doesn't depend on your country.

They start with Grand Battle Plan and Fleet in Being, and the AI won't deviate from those doctrines, so they could be considered historical I suppose. For air doctrine it is less clear, but in my opinion Operational Integrity might fit best due to its focus on fighters and tactical bombers.
 
Why are my air forces (on intercept) using my limited Fuel even when there are no enemy aircraft in the zone? I don't think they should be using any fuel if there are no actual enemies. I can understand them using fuel when on Air Superiority. But if there is not a single enemy to intercept then I don't think they should be using fuel.

I'm playing as Italy and looking at the Theorists available. One says Operational Integrity Doctrine +15%. What does that mean? There's no explanation. There are other Theorists who have +% listed for other Doctrines. But there's no explanation what that means. I really despise UI's that don't explain themselves.

Edit: I'm playing as Italy. Is it really not possible for me to send Volunteers to Spain while I'm at war with Ethiopia? This is so annoying. Completely ahistorical.

Edit 2: Is there no way to see a total count of all your equipment? In the field and in storage?

Edit 3: I think the Tanks in the Italian tree are named wrong. Heavy tanks at least.

So Italy starts with like 30 Alpine Battalions already made. I want to create one more Alpine division and like 3 Paratroopers. Is there any way for me to do this? Can I lift the cap?

I think that is a research bonus for that specific branch.
 
Is there a way to change the template of a single Division or just a few Divisions? I need some of my Coastal Divisions to be stronger because their ports keep coming under attack.

Is there any way to delete/destroy buildings like Naval Bases? I find myself stretched very thin trying to defend all my ports as Italy. I have so damn many.

Yes, create template you need, then select the division(s) you want to change and change their template:

Afaik only factories (MIC/CIC/NIC) can be destroyed.
 
Edit 2: Is there no way to see a total count of all your equipment? In the field and in storage?

Edit 3: I think the Tanks in the Italian tree are named wrong. Heavy tanks at least.

So Italy starts with like 30 Alpine Battalions already made. I want to create one more Alpine division and like 3 Paratroopers. Is there any way for me to do this? Can I lift the cap?

1. You can see it on the field and on storage but you need to sum it yourself.
2. Build other troops to increase the limits, or replace one Mtn battalion with Infantry in the template, then you can build more.
 
Is there really no way to build a certain number of Tanks, Aircraft, land equipment etc. I'm trying to build a historical army, navy, and air force. The Production screen allows you to set a build number for ships but not anything else it seems.

Is there no way to recall Volunteers or rotate them out with new Volunteers?

Can someone explain if it's possible to retreat in an orderly fashion? I don't see a retreat button anywhere. I want to reorganize my forces but I don't want them to get destroyed by retreating.

I have a lot of ships and Fleets and Task Forces. They're all over the place and the world. I started training them and when I stopped, instead of going back to where I had them they went to new ports all over the damn place. This is so annoying. Is there no way to make them go back where they came from?

There really is no way. If your target is a certain number you would have to work it out with pencil and paper. ;) Best to set production to about 150% of what you think you will need, I find if I play it too fine with production I run short of equipment.

You can click on a division in battle and order it to move back to another province and it will retreat there. if you do that with every division in battle the enemy may keep on attacking once they advance and you're back at square one, but without your previous entrenchment bonus.

Nope. I run into that as UK, I like to exercise my new ships in the Western Approaches in wartime, but if I stop the exercise they head straight for Dover in the English Channel. Shouldn't be a huge problem in peacetime, and in wartime I just select the trained ships and split them off the training fleet before sending them to reserves or wherever.
