Umm, does that also allow for an airwing split?
Yes
wiki said:
Only the first category that produces a valid target is used, but a single wing can handle multiple targets within the same category in one sortie. It is not necessary to split up wings to support multiple land combats for example. But a large naval bomber wing can for example not send any remaining planes on a port strike when another part of the wing executed a naval strike.

Is there a way to see enemy convoy routes? I want to figure out if I can intercept the oil resource convoys from Iraq and Iran going to England. And if I can intercept the resource convoys from India going to England. If they even do.

What do ships do when you run out of fuel? Do they go back to port immediately?

Not currently, but there will be in the next patch IIRC. Generally you can infer where they'll go by finding choke points or putting subs on the coast.

In those cases put some between Africa and South America, next to Gibraltar, and a wall in the atlantic between the US and the UK.

Where did you see that?

Is there a way to control what kind of submarines 'auto reinforce' my submarine task forces? I have them organized into task forces based on their range.

I might be wrong but I thought it was in the Intel Dev Diary.

You could assign each type of sub a different sign, eg. skull and cross bones, big gun, airplane, etc., and have each task force only reinforce with the type you want.

Giving different range subs different avatars should have the effect you want.

Is it just me or is port strike next to useless? I seriously can't even destroy a single ship. Meanwhile in real life a few out of date British Swordfish biplanes disabled half the Italian fleet at Taranto.

So the only way to get my Task Forces to reinforce with the ships that I want is to give them all different icons? That's so stupid. There's only 9 different icons as well. The Task Force Editor should allow you to choose exactly what you want to reinforce your Task Forces with.

I truly seriously despise the naval management and naval UI in this game. It's terrible. A total mess. Completely unintuitive. Doesn't even work in a rational way. How do you create a Fleet out of ships in the Reserve Fleet? How do you delete a Task Force without scrapping the ships?

Why can you not give separate missions to individual Task Forces? Why does every ship and every Task Force in the entire Fleet have to operate in all the same zones? Why do I have to make a million different Fleets to do what I want? I don't have anywhere near enough Admirals to control all my little Fleets.

The naval UI and naval manager is absolutely infuriating.

Is there no way to upgrade all ships of a class at once? Do I seriously have to go individually through a hundred ships?

I'm really annoyed that I can't edit an existing class. I want to edit my existing ship design but instead you're forced to make an entirely new class. If you try to hack it by giving it the same name then it won't let you upgrade your ships. This naval manager is seriously terrible.

Do you get result notification or not? If not then the ships may not be there or the range of your bomber didn't reach that port (need reach that location, not just the zone). Also note that most of the ports are on the land air zone, not the sea air zone.

Yes I get notifications and they do almost no damage.

Does Germany not invade Yugoslavia? I have historical Focuses on and it's way past the historical invasion date.

What's the deal with sea mines? In real life mines sunk a ton of ships. Like hundreds if not thousands. But in the game I've got hundreds of mines in different zones and I literally haven't sunk a single enemy ship.

How do you attack a fleet doing shore bombardment and doing an amphibious invasion? I moved my fleet to the sea province and nothing happens. Just sitting right on top of them.

How do I prevent Germany from sending a ridiculous amount of Divisions to Africa? They are shipping Divisions down the west coast of Africa.

Do the AA guns on ships help them during a port strike? I'm really annoyed I can't set a home port for my fleets and task forces. I keep getting port striked because my ships go to random unprotected ports instead of my safe ports.

Is the historic German AI programmed to do a Battle of Britain or Operation Sea Lion? In my current game they are just completely ignoring the British.

How do I get control of Corsica from Vichy France like Italy had in real life?

Is there no way to create a puppet of Montenegro? Montenegro was an Italian puppet according to my readings.

If I remember correctly you can use Ctrl+click or shift+click to select all ships of a class in the current fleet. I recall reading it in some tooltip.

As already explained by someone else above this is because you need the old "class" so ships of the old design have a "class".

Maybe you ave them the wrong engagement rules?

Afaik you can't. Corsica is core of (Vichy) France and so they won't give it to anybody voluntarily.

You can release puppets ihn the "manage subjects" menu.
According to wiki only Yugoslavia can release Montenegro, though.

Also, I am currently playing Japan and invading China, and eventually got bogged down, after I did a naval invasion to Qingdao, and only captured the peninsula before it all stopped, and so I wait until 1937, while I'm just building up, and attempt again, then my attacks all are all green, and in the high 80s, and after about 10 seconds, they go yellow, then green, then red, and will stay red or yellow until they die from lack of organization, and I'm checking to see what exactly is wrong with them, then I see what it is the soft attack is at like 9, while China's is at 30-40, now I'm not the best division builder, but they had decent piercing, soft attack, hard attack, etc. Could anyone care to explain why?

I'm in the Division Designer altering my Marine Division template. Why does the amphibious terrain picture and bonus disappear when I add an Amphibious Tank battalion to it? Is this a bug?

Is there a way to see what Divisions I have lost?

Is there no way to see what enemy ships my mines have sunk? I'm not seeing any popups when my mines damage or sink a ship.

Is it possible to capture ships that are being built and refitted? It should be.\

How many Transport planes do you need per Division?

What is the deal with the Strike Force mission? Some regions it looks like it's good and other regions have a red exclamation point. There's no explanation. This game is terrible at explaining its mechanics. "Some Task Forces are too far away from this region to give naval supremacy". What does that even mean?

How do you tell your 10 Task Force Destroyer Fleet to Patrol 10 sea zones? I can't get it to work. UI is terrible.

How many Transport aircraft do you need to supply an area? I have 43 flying the mission and it doesn't seem to have any effect on the supply situation. Like literally none.

What aggression setting should Patrol forces be on? I have 1 destroyer patrol task forces all over the place.

Can you use long range aircraft to get naval intel in a sea zone? I need a cheap way to find enemy ships for my Strike Force. I don't know how it works though.

Can I somehow stop Japan from sending half its army across the Pacific ocean in boats?

Why can I not make my Strike Force go to the African Coast zone? I can tell them to go to every other zone around it, but not that one. Makes no sense.

Why are my Patrol task forces just randomly stopping? I have a fleet of 10 task forces of destroyers. 5 destroyers n each. Only two of them are actually working. The rest just randomly stopped in the middle of the ocean or went back to a port. No explanation or anything. It's incredible how bad the UI and navy management is.

Is there any way to see when my Japanese allies get into a big naval battle? I want to know how their fleet is doing.

How do I tell how much Intel my aircraft are giving me in a sea zone? I'm trying to figure out how many aircraft I need to spot enemy ships for my Strike Force. I'm very low on fuel so I can't use patrol task forces really.

Why is my game only making one autosave? Isn't it supposed to make three?

I've sent a big one time lend lease to Finland from Italy. But I'm not seeing any convoy route. Why?

What is with the Ace generation? Some of mine say "Current status: KIA". So they are "currently" dead? The hell? lol. Will it generate a new one or should I just disband the entire air wing?

So I'm playing as Italy and Japan is importing A LOT of resources from my empire. They need it. However, the trade screen is saying their route efficiency is only 42%. I'm guessing this is because their convoys are being sunk. Can I help them? How can I tell where their convoys are being sunk? Is there a way to tell my Destroyers to protect their trade route?

I don't understand something about the air wings follow army command. I told three of my air wings to follow my army in southern Africa. Do I need to assign them a mission too? Or will they automatically choose missions to do? The game doesn't explain. This game doesn't explain much in general frankly.

Did the Italians have a Yamato equivalent super battleship class?

What is the "Tactics Movement" bonus associated with some combat tactics chosen in battle? (e.g., on the list here it's described as a category of possible bonus, but no indication of what it means)

How do I deal with the Axis? It seems unless I actively strangle them in the crib myself, they become unstoppable.

Was trying to do the Ships Don't Lie achievement. Decided to go Communist to expand, take Panama and Ecuador with little trouble, prepare myself for an invasion of Venezuela. When I do so, not only do they join Axis, but Peru joins the Axis as well. I'm not prepared for a two front war, and lose a little bit to the south, but divert enough troops to hold the line, while a marine invasion manages to pick off the Venezuelan victory points without too much difficulty, and they capitulate. Move the rest of my army to the Peruvian front line - they've taken massive casualties attacking into poor terrain, and are basically out of manpower. I figure I can try landing behind them, rush to the Amazon to cut them off from the capital's supply lines and encircle them so I can finally form Gran Colombia - at which point I don't even have to take the rest of Peru, just need to hold on until I can finish building all the ships I need - but when I try landing, there's 18 German divisions sitting there, and my heart sinks. Undaunted, try an even more ambitious capital take with a marine invasion, thinking that maybe they just brought all those troops to try and reinforce the frontline. No, there's another 35 divisions sitting in Lima. Through some lucky manuevers, I manage to retake Ecuador and encircle about 20 divisions with a lot of British and American help, but the last two states I need have nearly 100 Axis divisions somehow not all dying of attrition in the Peruvian jungle defending them, and with the Soviets fallen, there just seems to be more and more coming, and I've basically bled out at this point. There's basically no way for me to influence how Europe unfolds as Colombia, so what exactly do I do? I'm not sure there's much hope left in this particular file, but would like to know if there's an option if I try again.

That's not really a QQ/QA guestion. ;)
Here's how I did it (pre MtG, though - you can achieve this by chosing another version in Steam)
Most important thing is that USA doesn't do Pax Americana. That means you should go historical because with historical off this focus is chosen quite early.

Second thing is the order of conquest.
I did it in this order:
1. Venezuela
2. Ecuador
3. Peru
4. Panama

Panama was a close call. I brought them to capitulation only a few days before any major power (mainly UK or US) could intervene.

My divisions were mainly width 20, 1 ART rest INF and support set to ART and ENG. Add some MAINT (equipment capture) if possible.

Venezuela requires a lot of micro management. First let them bleed dry on your defenses (I didn't build any forts, wiki says you should - your call. I prefered building MIC) then encircle them. Not that easy because not much room for maneuvers but possible.
Ecuador should be a walk in the park.
Peru is a grind because of the mountains but besides of that not that different from Venezuela. Well besides the fact that both (you and your enemy) will have far more troops than you did with Venezuela.
After that I focused on Panama because I almost expected the USA to intervene (as said, they didn't) and Panama had its troops (one or two divisons) on the far side of the Canal so I could have done that some time in between with a single division...

I cannot recall exactly how I did my DOW management but I guess I didn't have much peace between those conquests. I think I started to justify when I thought I had pushed far enough and decimated the enemy sufficently so I could remove some divisions to another front to start building up planning bonus.

After conquering Peru I began to exchange my coastal MIC to NIC and started building BB - just build the earliest models, they're the cheapest and thus fastest completed.
When I had 30 NIC I used 15 to build BB and 15 to build CV, set the game to speed 5 and took a nap (not literally but you get the point ;) ).
