That will do it for Gas Core Antimatter Power Plant... once the Salvager reaches home and uploads the data.

Now we can either (a) temporarily abandon the salvaging operation, head home to Earth right now, cash in that PP tech, and then return to Harmony to salvage some more; or (b) just keep on working, and cash in the tech later.

I would actually say (b) keep working... because it's not the Power Plant tech that's a game changer. It's the paired Engine tech that's valuable. And we won't get THAT until we dismantle those engines. Later.

On second thought... maybe we should cash in that tech right now.

We've found hundreds of thousands of points of various tech data so far by dismantling wrecks, and NONE of it has been for Engines. None of it.

Perhaps we're blocked from even finding that data until we already have the power plant tech. So let's cash it in.

Again, the Bork make diplomatic contact but offer no suggestions or requests this time. Diplo +172.3

More builds of Infantry, Artillery and Partystarters.

Including the units currently in transit, we have over two and a half million troops on Harmony, and another three quarters of a million on Earth awaiting transport.

Academies can pretrain crews?

We no longer have any presence in Ze Nootrahl Zoon-a except for our Diplo ship.

There was no polite suggestion this time! Diplo +171.2

Guess thst means they can't be fully xenophobic, aa wouldn't they have wanted the diplo ship gone too?
Great! Now it's just a matter of time before we get a trade treaty with them.
Unless they start claiming AX Microscopii...

Yeah, I'm suspecting similar.

What kind of contact did they make?

Bahamut, then. The lawful good God of dragons in D&D. And a golden dragon in his own right.

Definitely.

No, that's not how this works. Bigger Shipyards are also bigger factories. I can't look it up right now but if I recall the build speed increases much more slowly than the tonnage does, percentage wise.

Also, the armor layers may be less deep but it's also much wider, bigger components are harder to kill, and more components means more redundancy.

From a shield standpoint you are right though.
That's funny. I was thinking Tiamat lol

The Ze Nootrahl Zoon-a star system is now (perhaps optimistically) renamed to "Border".

... remember what happened when we named an alien-contact star system "Harmony"?

Infantry and Partystarters built. Three more Gadget class maintenance workshops come off the slipways.

A Biologist finishes the Alien Autopsy.

They have a narrower gravity tolerance than Humans. We can tolerate anything from 0.1g to 1.9g. Are Modrons more specialized? Less adaptable?

They are accustomed to cooler temperatures than Humans prefer (average near freezing) and a much lower Oxygen partial pressure... they would find Earth's atmosphere poisonous. Too much Oxygen.

All three Salvager task forces are en route to Earth, to upload the wreck tech into Earth's science data base.

The first of the three arrives... and uploads a bit more than 200,000 tech points of data.

We're about 80% of the way toward Gas Core Antimatter Power Plants (the prerequisite tech for the next level of engines, Gas Core Antimatter Engine) and the two incoming Salvagers are also carrying data for this specific tech.

To an extend.

There is a setting for how high you want the quality of the crew and officers produced by the academies to be. The drawback being that it reduces the rate at which both of them are produced. And if you run out of educated crew you have to resort to conscripts, which carries crew quality penalties.

The only way around that drawback is simple: build more academies.

You don't get crews with 100% crew training this way either, but the starting point is better.

Guess thst means they can't be fully xenophobic, aa wouldn't they have wanted the diplo ship gone too?

Xenophobia has zero influence on this behaviour.

Unless they start claiming AX Microscopii...

We have a protection status set on it and they have nothing in Border, let alone Microscopii. There is no reason for them to do so.

And the second they send a ship there they will be the ones receiving suggestions that they leave. Or whatever Emu set the protection status to.

Don't sweat it, we've done everything we can to head that off at the pass and NPR races are not that aggressive.

That's funny. I was thinking Tiamat lol

Can't have one without the other, can you?

You have a few reactors you can disassemble too if the tech data doesn't cover it.

Great work. Lovely to see all that fighting pay off.

Looks like you can design new reactors (practicals) after this finishes, too. Maybe put another layer of armor on the Monster design with it.

Our protection status is the same as the one the Bork have been using.

"Suggest Leave", without any "or else" clause added.

Given our EM signature of about 30,000 and the presence in-system of a hundred thousand tons of our warships, it's unlikely that they'll make any claim.

Again, we've gotten through an entire in-game month! We've been hitting that benchmark pretty regularly lately.

Oh, an idea! Let's rename the Modron home system to "Democratic People's Republic", that should ruin them!
