trying to avoid clutter and creating a seperate thread, so I figured i'd ask here.

Does anyone know the cheat to add favor/ardor for the Daedra?

Its something CHINA in the vanilla, but it's obviously been renamed for Elder Kings?
Anyone have any idea what it is?

it's add_offmap_currency <offmap name> <x, with x being the currency amount>

The offmaps in EK have their names formatted with the prefix oblivion_, so for example oblivion_azura

I got the mod downloaded following the steps. When I try to run the mod it loads to talking with magnus and then crashed. Can someone help me out? I put it in mod folder where I have rest of my working mods.

It sounds like you installed it in the wrong place, honestly. Without seeing your file structure I'm not sure what else to tell you right now.

That's a different folder name than my install, so make sure you edit the .mod file to reflect that.
The thing is even if i change the mod file name it still dowsnt make a difference it appears in the ck2 launcher

Open the mod file in Notepad. There should be a line that says 'path = "mod/EKSVN"'. Change this to 'path = "mod/ElderKings"'.
Although it is optional, I'd recommend changing the line underneath from 'user_dir = "EKSVN"' to 'user_dir = "ElderKings"' as well.

Beat me too it. You don't change the mod file title, you change the location in the mod file.

DId you try it? Does it work? Main loads to talking with Magnus then crashes.
what version are you playing in? I doesnt work in 2.8.1 you have to be in the latest version of ck2

My game crashes every time I start (i.e after I select a character and press play).

You need to give us more information than that if you want help. Did you install the mod correctly? Are you running it with other mods? Are you using the correct version of the mod with the matching CK2 version?
