what are you making now?

well i´m making the countries and the cultures, but i can´t work more until we get the map.
 
You know Ct, I have a suggestion, instead of a historical muslim mod, why not make an alternative history mod of a different muslim world spanning from 1419 to 1819?just a suggestion.

yes, of corse... have you decided more conserning the country-list??

since we'll stop at (or before) 1031.. you can kick out all Crusaders, most Turks, and many Reconquista-Arabs, like Almohads etc. also many Europeans..
but we must wait for the map.. that's important..

The Cordoba-Caliphate fell in 1031 and was broken into many smaller emirates(and the warlike Almoravids invaded the same year to stop the Christians who exploited the opportunity)... luckily we don't need them..

that could be interesting, but it's also interesting to make a 622-1031 ca. scenario, as it doesn't exist yet...

fantasycamps can be cool, but making camps in more accordance to history is more interesting, as you (and players) may actually learn something during the gaming-sessions..

but maybe you and ct could make an alternative muslim-EU2-mod too..

Well, then it may not be so interesting for you, in the same way as for others.. but don't you think people should know more about islamic history.. as it will help them understand islam and muslims better? at least I think so..

Hm.. I think that Damascus here is a crusader.. but I'm not sure.. you have aleppo and syria too, but they're at least crusaders.. but if we change shield.. (the Cross wouldn't suit a muslim nation) we can use the tag

Of course, however I always assumed that loffman and the mongol scenario seem to ridge together many aspects of this scenario, not to mention Franconium Imperium :)

yes, of course.. those scebarios cover the same time..?? (but the Mongols didn't move until the 13th century... right).. our scenario ends before even the Turkish attacks and the Crusades.. and the Reconquista.. but the Imperium Franconium pobably starts around 7/800.. so it covers about the same time..
 
Then use Imperium Franconium and loffmans as supports, and if need be, try to interegate new sprites.

We can use all the tags, all that shield and flag graphic isn´t a problem check The grand request thread out.
Well Damascus, Aleppo and Syria is crusader states but I think they could be Islamic revolters.

Moslem nation in SE Asia in that timeframe just Samudra Pasai (Acheh) but get conquered by Majapahit (Hinduism Mataram ) when they try to unite all SE asia from Aceh to New guena. And the most powerful SE nation in the half of timefrime was Srivijaya (Budhism Palembang) .

But i think SE asia not important in 622-1031 timeframe. just small arab colony in west coast of sumatra and some small native kingdom that have Arabian leader.
 
Well I'm getting some support for Kharijism over Sufism, which is good. Another religion we'll need is Gnosticism/Manicheanism, which was a major religion in Central Asia and the official religion of the Uighur Empire (roughly where Chagatai is in the standard game). We need to keep some focus on the east as well, as the Islamic world bordered China and India as well as Europe (Muslim writers also wrote much more on China and India than on Europe).

As to states, I would argue that the state of the Quraysh should simply be called "Mecca" and Muhammad's state could go by the name "Medina." The state of the Rashidun (Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthamn, and 'Ali) could be called "the Caliphate," which could conceivably be used much longer, but I'd favor seperate tags for the 'Ummayads and 'Abbasids. Cordoba works as a tag for the 'Ummayads of Spain. The Hammadids were a dynasty of amirs in Syria and Northern Iraq in the 9th-10th centuries and definitely deserve a tag. I favor eliminating the American tags and simply making colonization of the continent off-limits as per the MES. The Fatimids conquered Tunisia in 909 and only took Egypt in 969. Here are a few other Islamic states of the period (by no means an exhaustive list):

We need to keep some focus on the east as well, as the Islamic world bordered China and India as well as Europe (Muslim writers also wrote much more on China and India than on Europe).

As to states, I would argue that the state of the Quraysh should simply be called "Mecca" and Muhammad's state could go by the name "Medina." The state of the Rashidun (Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthamn, and 'Ali) could be called "the Caliphate," which could conceivably be used much longer, but I'd favor seperate tags for the 'Ummayads and 'Abbasids. Cordoba works as a tag for the 'Ummayads of Spain. The Hammadids were a dynasty of amirs in Syria and Northern Iraq in the 9th-10th centuries and definitely deserve a tag. I favor eliminating the American tags and simply making colonization of the continent off-limits as per the MES. The Fatimids conquered Tunisia in 909 and only took Egypt in 969. Damascus wasn't, I thought. It was a Muslim state ruled by the Burids, that hated the Muslim state of Aleppo and consequently was a candidate as an ally of the Crusaders. Unfortunately the Second Crusaders under Louis of France decided to attack Damascus, causing it to ally with Aleppo, and it subsequently withstood a short siege by the Crusaders. The Zengids of Aleppo shortly after conquered it in 1154.
