Regarding city populations, they were just arbitrarily given a value without much thought into it -> Some are eh... just let us say not completely correct.
Will fix Constantinople, thanks for noticing it.

When you redraw the map, do you use the Original EU2 map as a base and "enlarge" it to add more provinces in Europe or do you guys make a completly new map, maybe based on Satellite Images?

I would prefer the latter, because the EU2 map is highly incorrect ( just look at the Danube in Vanilla EU2  ).

If it ever happens, I'd love a more satellite-quality map.

Hey guys, could I make two comments?

1) I'd dump the idea of making a new map, at this stage in the game. Too much effort.

2) Can I write some events for the Caliphate? The events simulating its rise and its dramatic victories are really ignored.

Well, it all depends on when EU3 will be released. If we are going to have to wait a few more years, then we might as well busy ourselves with new maps to give this old game a facelift.

I heard EU3 could be released around 2008

I think that was said to be the earliest (probably just to get people to quit asking). AFAIK no one has actually said there would be an EU3.

1) You may be right that it may be too much effort but that won't stop us, only Paradox making a good game about this period may do that :D

2) Sure, why not. Do note that I have made some events ( there is some post earlier in this thread) but since they aren't in the latest upload they are nothing you have to worry about. If those you make are better than mine then they are the ones getting in.

Now to all of you. Should I upload what I have at the moment. Not much yet, just this (except minor things I didn't bother to write down that don't really change much):
- In 511 Franks will now divide into Rheims, Paris, Orleans and Soissons
- Rheims, Paris & Soissons added in 526
- Events added for Franks, Persia, Caliphate,
- Added 10% starting inflation for ERE and 20% for WRE, all scenarios
But since it has been quite some time since I uploaded the previous version, do you wan't to be able to download this now or when more has been done (might take some time)?

Quick question, I am playing this scenario as the Roman Empire and have reached Feb 1613. I DAed Ghassan who had conquered Medina. So are the Moslems coming or does my holding that province prevent it? Thanks for a response, sorry if this has already been answered, I don't have time to read the whole thread tonight.

Haven't played this mod yet, but just an opinion... if/when the western Roman Empire falls, should or does the Eastern empire get an event saying that Rome has fallen and that the Roman Empire only needs one emperor?

If this occurs, there should be a renaming for the ERE to simply the Roman Empire.

earl of bronze: They may still come. IIRC the only way to really stop them is to hold both Mekkah and Medina and squish the revolts that will happen.

Pikeman85: ERE doesn't get any event when the WRE falls. ERE is named just Roman Empire at the start.

Hrm. Personally I think that an event when the WRE falls could be /very/ interesting.

You could, for example, have the Eastern emperor accept the fall and merely claim that now the Empire only needed one Emperor. If that happened, the Kingdom of Italy could become your vassal, or some such. Or you could have him say "No way in hell", which would give him cores over the whole western empire, but also make all the barbarians rather hostile to him.

Sorry, I haven't played the mod yet (Need to fix my computer a bit before I try to install any new mods) so I don't know everything about it, just what I've read.

Ok, they came in the early 620's, 68,000 rebel scum in Medina and later another 68,000 in Damman(which Ghassan somehow also took). It was vicious but what was mine still is(though I got major badboy for reannexing Ghassan after they went independent before I could finally get someone over there to retake from the rebel scum) and I gained two provinces from the Caliphate. It was quite satifying especially when I finally had a nice big battle in Medina to break their 37,000 man army. This is a great scenario!

I cannot seem to get the game to run. It gets to the part where it says loading graphics, and then boom, crash. What could be causing this?

It should be noted I am playing with the strategy six pack version.

Additional Edit. The mod seems to work fine, provided I do not use the included map directory.

EDIT again: It seems that it will load up to the point where you can select your nation without the map directory, but it will not allow me into the actual game without getting rid of the DB directory. Can someone tell me what is going on? :( I reinstalled EU2 and everything. I'd really like to play this mod.
