I'm more looking for advice than strict troubleshooting, but I was a dimbo and must have accidentally ticked the Sunset Invasion option without meaning to. It's 1556 and no European other than Norway has any colonists (inadvertenly also slowing down the Reformation), the New World is some massive High American battle royale which all might be fine except for the fact that the Mayans are now colonising the Congo, which is...just ridiculous.
I doubt reconverting at this stage is going to help because I am otherwise enjoying the game, and the New World has so far had relatively little influence on the Old (apart from the fact that our insitutions all started over there, which should have got me thinking). Is there a better way of fixing this than writing an event that does something like: for any nation with a capital in the New World, sets their tech group to something sensible (by region), removes all idea sets and institutions, and deletes all their territory (maybe except the capital/primary culture provinces if I'm feeling clever); and then another event/set of events that gives some selected Western European nations exploration/expansion ideas instead of one set they currently have?
