Upload save please.

Hi here you go attached. Thank you. I've changed EUIV to version 1.31 and CK3 is just normal latest version. I literally just finished this game today.

Please redownload the converter from the first post and retry. Additionally, your CK3 might be latest version but save itself started in 1.2 and carries all the corruptions that happen when you drag an existing save across different versions. IE, if you see nonsense on map, that's not our fault. Also, update your EU4 to latest (1.31.6), no need to park on 1.31.5.

hello, Please tell me how to fix this great converter error from this save and log

Please redownload the converter from the first post and retry.

thank you bery much

Thanks I tried again but I'm still getting this error but it's different message.

EDIT: Sorry I tried again and it created the mod. I think I had the folder and old attempts in there so I deleted them.

I started this game around April so you are correct that I started an old version and the game updated since then. I just don't get around to finishing games quickly enough.

Thank you, it works, absolutely no issues so far.

For development level conversion, the differences of development seem to be squashed too much when converting.
I see two ways of improving it :
  • Instead of using 0.1 x ck3Development, we could consider that only development above 50 is taken into account and increase the multiplicator : 0.2 x (ck3Development - 50)
  • For the buildings part of the formula, take into account the buildings level (otherwise there are buildings everywhere at the end of the CK3 campaign anyway), this could be by multiplying by buildingLevel / 8
I don't know how easy it is to implement though, but I think it would greatly improve the conversion…

Every building upgrade counts as its own "building" as far as the save and converter are concerned. So upgrade something to level 3 and you have "3" buildings, so that part is already. As for development, you can indeed minimize it's impact by using smaller factors.

Ok I hadn't understood building upgrades worked this way, I thought it was only the number of buildings that counted.
As for development, I would want to make its impact bigger, without making the EU4 start development levels too high.
With the example values I gave, it would mean :
CK3 development levelCurrent corresponding EU4 development pointsNew corresponding EU4 development points
100 (max)0.1 x 100 = 100.2 x (100 - 50) = 10
900.1 x 90 = 90.2 x (90 - 50) = 8
800.1 x 80 = 80.2 x (80 - 50) = 6
700.1 x 70 = 70.2 x (70 - 50) = 4
600.1 x 60 = 60.2 x (60 - 50) = 2
500.1 x 50 = 50.2 x (50 - 50) = 0

I think I had misunderstood this sentence in the wiki :
A single building, or building upgrade is worth 0.25 development points in appropriate category(upgraded buildings do not add more development)
When reading "upgraded buildings do not add more development", I understood upgrades were not taken into account. But it also says "or building upgrade"... ;)
(actually I don't understand what "upgraded buildings do not add more development" means now... )

500.1 x 50 = 50.2 x (50 - 50) = 0

This is a sensible suggestion and now implemented. Please redownload the converter and retry. Also remember to tweak the numbers to match your desired output.

I have no idea who added that remark, it's false and I've removed it.

Suggestion: Could West Franconia map to the Palatinate tag instead of both West and East Franconia mapping to Franconia?
Sure, done.

Please retry with a newer converter and upload log.txt again if it fails.
