I have a mission to vassalize Augsburg but their form of government doesn't allow Royal Marriages. Is this a bug?
You do not need Royal marriages to vassalise anyone, either via diplo or force.

Marriages help towards vassalising but they are not necessary. You need 190 relations, target country not being hostile towards you(not %100 sure), coupled with sufficient base tax and diplomatic reputation combination.
Is there any way to "unstuck" a stuck nation? I have Portugal as a vassal and they don't do anything anymore. They almost lost their Granadan provinces to a 5.000 men rebel stack while sitting right next to it with 15.000 men. They don't move their armies and fleets at all anymore and I'm not quite sure if they're even still colonizing. I already exited the game and reloaded the save, but that didn't help at all. Any other ideas?
Nobody has any ideas? Guess I'll have to annex and re-release them.
The game says I can't turn on Ironman because it isn't "Unmodded or validated".
I think a while ago I messed some files, but don't know which, I unistalled and reinstalled but nothing changed.
I had a game with england recently winning the war at start, installing a PU with france. eventually i integrated france, but some later another player formed the netherlands as burgund.
i had my king attached to one of my stacks as general, but just as france re-appeared my king was no longer attached to my units but instead leading a french army. at this point france hat the same king as me but was not in a PU with me. later i even had to fight against my own king on the battlefield..
is that supposed to happen.. ?
You do need royal marriages to diplomatically vassalize. Which is why you can't do it if you're a theocracy or a republic (barring noble republic and some special governments like Dutch Republic, which can marry).
No, sorry; the only fix I know is save & reload.
If it's non-Ironman you could also try tag switching to them, having a look around and seeing if there's any obvious reason why they're broken, then tag switching back, saving, and reloading. Maybe they have some obvious problem you can fix. And the tag switch in and out might, theoretically, do something.
In any case you should post this as a Bug Report, attaching your save game. There have been other 'frozen nation' bug reports before, so see if you can find one to bump if possible. But the save is most important; if you've got it repeatable then that will be very useful for QA, I think I remember someone saying that they could not recreate it before.
Yeah, it sucks. Both my thread and my mod have already been quoted in this thread, so my work here is done
Seriously though, this is why I just have cores disabled always. There are still too many bugs as at 1.3.2. And even without the bugs, I really don't much like disappearing cores. I think it creates an arbitrary shift in gameplay, with early game being dynamic with lots of options for nations to release and vassals to create, and later game gameplay being the opposite. It would be fine if the disappearing of cores create some alternative type of gameplay/strategy for later game, to make up for the change in nation mechanics. But I don't feel that that happens.
Okay, how will this situation untangle, and is it even supposed to be possible? Castile started a war and called in their ally France, who honoured the CtA. I'm on the defending side (not war leader). Then a succession war broke out between Castile and France. France is still on Castile's side in the first war.
So France and Castile are now, at the same time, allies in one war and enemies in another. WAD?![]()
Is it normal to lose all of your Imperial Authority during the Reformation? It's rather frustrating to see my IA getting sapped up as fellow HRE nations convert to Protestantism and I don't know what to do about it. I've been liberating minor HRE nations for authority but I can never keep that authority long enough to acquire more to enact the next Imperial Reform. Do I use Cleansing of Heresy and Defender of Faith CB's against HRE nations that embrace Protestantism?
No, I think France is supposed to have dropped out of the original war, but presumably didn't because they are WL.
They aren't war leader in the first war, and couldn't have become so, as they joined the aggressor's side (AFAIK the war leader never changes on the aggressor side?).
Savegame? It's a curious bug I wouldn't mind getting a look at.
