@Meneth,how about making loans have more negative effects ?For a small loan,a -10 relation malus, and for the huge loan -30 ?I mean it s too simple to abuse, who cares of some piety and prestige loss ?

If not,can you tell me how to change this miself ?
You can add opinion modifiers to the event modifiers in balansegang.txt (one of the few files I never bothered to rename after the Balansegang -> PB name change).

Meneth, would you consider adding: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?746159-Better-Congenital-Traits-Mod

To the mod compatibility table? Should work with PB-SWMH-VIET(Traits, Events)-NBRT-ARKO-2.04. Never tried it with Immersion, doubt it works.
Checking it out right now.
A few comments:
Any reason the HIP version includes VIET's trait images? Shouldn't be any reason to do so, surely.
You've got a few files without extensions in the events folder.
Most of the trait files are identical to PB's. There should be no reason to include those at all. Also, I can't quite remember ever giving you permission to redistribute PB files?

Clean up those issues, and I'll add it to the list. If you need to redistribute any PB files, drop me a PM with a list of the files you need to redistribute :)
It is also worth noting that the HIP version of your mod won't work if PB or VIET Traits isn't enabled. So I'd recommend simply labeling it as a version for PB/VIET Traits, as your vanilla version will work for all combinations that don't include either of the two.

We've added a small section to the OP on usage in other mods to ensure that there's no confusion about permissions.
Tl;dr: Permissions work pretty much exactly like they did before HIP was a thing.
Usage in other mods:
Any permissions gained before HIP was launched still persist. They only apply to the mod one originally obtained permission to use content from, not HIP as a whole.
Note that including a modified file from a mod in order to make your own mod work with that mod is considering using content from that mod.

  • To use content from ARKOpack, you need permission from Arko
  • To use content from NBRT+, you need permission from EOOQE
  • To use content from Project Balance, you need permission from Meneth
  • To use content from SWMH, you need permission from Aasmul
  • To use content from VIET, no permission is required. Cybrxkhan must be credited. Note that as VIET implements content from many other mods, you should talk to Cybrxkhan to ensure that the content can be used
  • If in doubt about what mod content belongs to, message Meneth

Is there a way to change HIP so that defines.lua is modifiable? Usually, with Project Balance I change a couple minor values in defines.lua, but for some reason whenever I change anything in defines.lua in HIP it will crash immediately on start. It seems to be caused by PB specifically, so I'm wondering why PB is reliant on defines.lua having the default values.
Can't say I've ever encountered anything of the sort. Modding the defines should work just fine.

To test I changed a few random values in my HIP install. Worked just fine.

I'm sure that you're aware of this, but on recent versions of Python 3, this won't run unless you replace every raw_input with input. It worked fine for me after the replacements, though.
Yeah, I forgot to update that when I edited the script from being written with 3.3 to 2.7 (due to the installer library I use not working with 3.3). I'll correct that, thanks.

Haven't been around in a while, came to get the current versions of VIET and PB and found this.... I'm confused. Are all the packs of HIP usable together now with no problems?
All except VIET Immersion + SWMH.

As Elvain said, SWMH updates will be the least frequent of the HIP updates :D
Yeah, SWMH is likely to break saves maybe every month or three, and the other modules that have the potential to break saves (PB and VIET Immersion) will try to time things so that they coincide with a SWMH update in order to minimize all save-breaking.
In the case of PB, saves are unlikely to be broken until RoI releases. Not sure about Immersion, but I'd imagine a similar timeframe.

For reference, I was installing everything apart from SMHM and PB.
Were you reinstalling from the same extract? The modules folder is deleted after installing unless you choose copying instead of moving, as it is essentially useless after moving most of its contents.

Simply reextracting the modules folder should fix it.

I got a similar error, and i was installing for the first time.

I just deleted every file in the mod folder and re-extracted them from the download once again and the same error popped up.
Check if you've actually got the file, would you?

According to what i can see the file that my installer reports missing is not there.
Ah, that's a different issue, which I've actually just fixed in my local version. Just create two blank files in there; one named colormap.dds, and one called colormap_water.dds. It should make it not crash.
Gonna upload the fixed version so that no one else will encounter any issues with NBRT+.

Is the PB_VIET_EVENTS folder's "events" folder supposed to be empty?
Actually, the only thing apart from empty folders that it contains is a single 00_on_actions.txt.
Yeah; it only includes the single file (on_actions) that needs to be changed in order for VIET Events to work with PB.
I'll get rid of the empty folders.

All that said, we ought specifically include a big, bold note about any of the HIP mods being savegame-incompatible from the previous HIP release in the announcement. Ideally, we would also version the whole of the HIP package (even if you're not using the mods that are breaking savegame compatibility in it) in a X.Y.Z manner too. Z, the simple "guaranteed compatible release" number, increases once a week or so with every release no matter what, and Y is increased whenever any single one of the mods that the installer supports breaks its savegame-compatibility, whether or not it actually affects your particular mod combo. This means it will "false alarm a fair bit" more than it would if the whole thing was a single, monolothic mod that didn't support individual selections. However, it'd be an easy way to compare/tell at a glance that you should be wary and look for an incompatibility note related to a mod you use in the package before blindly installing.
This decision has been had (before you joined the team). Most everyone agreed that just using the date as the version for HIP itself made the most sense.

Will tomorrow/Saturday's release be savegame-compatible? I got a good thing going with my game in the current version.
The next release will be once NBRT+ has been updated for the latest version of SWMH. When exactly that'll be we don't know.

As there haven't really been anything major happening to any mod in HIP since the last release, I doubt saves will be affected.

So I'm running Crusader Kings 2 on Ubuntu, and want to use HIP. I check the Readme.txt and it says:

Since I plan on converting to EU4 once I'm done, and it seems SWMH doesn't support the Converter, I choose VIET Immersion rather than SWMH and thus ought to follow the instructions above and remove those files. Yet, I can't find the files. Are those instructions old? Have they been moved somewhere else and you simply forgot to change the Readme? I just want to play this one, and I'm to unsure to just try to make it fly.
They've been moved to the folder "NBRT+SWMH".
Come next release there probably won't be any manual instructions at all though, as then the installer should work for both OS X and Linux .
Since you're on Linux, it'd be appreciated if you'd try the beta version of the new installer. See this thread.

Frankly that would make a lot more sense. However as my limited modding knowledge tells me - the program logic looks at the mod, sees if a file has loaded - if no, loads the current mods version - if yes ignores the current mods version. Thus why before HIP there were all of the PB + (VIET/SWMH/etc) files that loaded before the main body of PB. The blend versions needed to load with precedence.
Load order for the compatches was ensured using dependencies, not based on name precedence.
Name precedence works in a rather arcane way, so I never bothered to look into it, so I'm not entirely sure what takes precedence there.

Does the duel engine work correctly nowadays? Or is that due for the next patch? Which are the submods that aren't compatible yet?
Next patch.

The only incompatible mods within HIP are SWMH and VIET Immersion.
