I can confirm I am probably missing a button or I am insane, but I cannot manage :-(
I select an army group, I select with shift the various troops for which I want to switch template (like 5 infantry moving into another type of infantry), I click on there helmet to open the unit details, I click on the template switch... and it only switch the template of the division I have clicked on... while I would have liked it to switch all 5 division straight away.
Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Additionnal question regarding trade: if you are buying from a country and this country is at war, do you have a risk of getting your convoys sunk or not?
Here- Look where I've got my mouse hovering over in the army window on the left. Click that button with the green arrows to change template after you've selected some divisions.

EDIT: Whoops, guess I was way slow on the draw on that one. I blame lag, didn't see those last couple posts.

Thanks both (with the same avatar, start to be hard on those forums with all the fans of Rommel :D)

So I imagine exp forces works the same as trade: I can send them on my own convoy from Japan to Germany, all the way through the Suez canal without the British minding? (I often have issues with Germany fully trashing itself in Europe by switching front after every single NF, so a few japanese brigades can probably mop the floor behind them and ensure they can last until Barbarossa)

Just to be clear- you understand that for expeditionary forces to work, both of you have to be in a war together, so sending those troops over will get them killed either way. (seeing as how you'd still be at war with any scary navies in the way, you don't get the magical teleportation machine that volunteers get) And 2- if you're sending Germany those troops, they're just going to have the same flip flopping issues. Volunteers are controlled by the sender. Expeditionaries are controlled by the recipient.

And yeah, hard not to love Rommel. Wasn't a member of the NSDAP, refused to execute prisoners of war, and outwitted every enemy commander he was pitted up against ;)

Thanks for the update and sorry... was talking about volunteers not expeditionary forces. Exp will not help the AI as it will do stupid things with it.

Regarding Rommel's skills, it is a long-lasting debates and the Anglo-American generals had every incentives to boost his skills to boast their victories... but probably not the right topic for it. You even have a full wiki page on this myth.

Is there any kind of crashlog avaliable to player? If so, where can I find it? My aar game has been crashing on the same date and it would be very disappointing to lose it.

How do I designate a port for my ships to be produced at? As Germany, the game is producing all my destroyers in the Mediterranean and they can't get past Gibraltar or Suez.

By default naval ships are set to auto deploy. You can change that in the production screen, specifying a particular port, or fleet to deploy them to.

Is there a simple way to duplicate production lines, so that the new line appears directly beneath the old line? Right now I have to create a new line, choose the right equipment and then click it all the way up to the right spot, if I want to keep contiguous lines for the same equipment.

Is there a way to observe and not get news pop ups? I want to start streaming the game with a bunch of National Focus mods active for maximum chaos and don't want newspapers popping up and covering the middle of the screen, Thanks!

Make sure the mods you're using are compatible; national focuses often have a knock-on effect on other countries, so - for example - a mod that improves Germany's national focus tree might also edit Italy's, even if it doesn't appear obvious.

I've already done that part, only using ones that add more focuses to minor nations.

the rightclick to add to combat, someone posted earlier is NOT support attack, those units WILL move into the province if they win,

you manually add a unit to support attack by CTRL+rightclicking the province.. these units will NOT enter the province after you win the combat.*

(*) unless they're part of a battleplan, then ofcourse can possibly relocate if the border moves
Thanks got that one sorted out a while ago now;)

I'm trying to get started with this game, but I have one immediate issue with it. When the game is unpaused, the day and night constantly whoosh by on the map and it's hard on my eyes, making the game unpleasant to play. This visual effect is removed if you set the game to max speed, but I don't want to have to run max speed all the time. Is there a way to disable the day/night visual effect on the slower speeds?

Is it possible to decide where newly constructed ships should be deployed? Ran into some trouble as USSR, as I wanted an Atlantic Fleet but stuff kept deploying in the Black Sea ...
