Quick question, I'm considering buying this game, and I'm wondering. If I would buy the Hoi4 Mobilization pack, would I get Waking the tiger as well? And what about the version, I mean 1.5.0-1.5.4, will I get the 1.5.4 instantly? And lastly, will the Man The Guns expansion cost even more, or is it an update?
Thanks to anyone who answers :)

Mobilization pack does not feature Waking the Tiger as far as I'm aware. Version will automatically be the latest. There'll be a free update alongside the upcoming DLC, as per usual.

Well, I from what I can see Waking The Tiger is not included in any sale as of now, and Man The Guns is not out yet. Which means, that if I was to buy the game now, I'd have to buy Waking the Tiger and Man the Guns for their full prices, and that's pretty costly considering I'm 16 years old :D

Sorry, maybe I should've clarified. I didn't necessarily mean they're on sale right now, but whenever they are. I don't know if there's any in between, but the Christmas Sales for sure tend to be a very good time to be on the lookout. You're correct though. Unless they were to bundle up the latter expansion packs, you'd have to get them seperately as well.

What do think would be the ideal marine template for naval invasions as US?
I only want to use them for landing and holding position until my army arrives.
I am thinking of a 7 marine 2 RART division with support battalions of ART, AA, AT, RART, ENG.

20w MAR Template with ENG, SART
You have CVs and overall pretty good AS, so use it.

Due to WtT SA nerfs on ART its not worthwhile to invest heavily in ART.
Imo SART is a nice to have because it gives some good bang for a few bucks but you also could let it away.

If you really want the most bang then use 40w MAR. Personally I dont like this because it can easily lead to supply issues.

Thank you!

An other question:
there are lend lease convoy every 30 days. During that time when the equipment is transported, does the equipment losts with the convoys if the convoys sank? Or just a lesser percentage is delivered?

Equipment is sunk and lost based on convoys.

If for example 25 / 50 convoys get sunk 50% of the equipment is sunk.

The amount of equipment sunk should be displayed in the tooltip.

I have some questions regarding to fleets and naval battles.

Scenario A
1. My convoys are attacked by enemy subs
2. I have a fleet in region
How can I join with that fleet the fastest way to defend my convoys?

Scenario B
1. My Allies' convoys are attacked by enemy subs
2. I have a fleet in the region
How can I join with that fleet the fastest way to defend their convoys?

Scenario C
1. As UK I am war with Germany
2. Soviets are also at war with Germany (same enemy but not allied)
3. Soviet convoys are attacked by enemy subs
4. I have a fleet in the region
How can I join with that fleet the fastest way to defend their convoys?

Scenario D
1. FleetA is in a sea battle
2. FleetB is a CV fleet in the same region
Can my planes join the battle if I gave them missions over the sea zone?

Scenario E
If my FleetA is in a sea battle, and I want my FleetB to join, should I have to choose the exactly same mission as FleetA, or is there a defined mission which allows me to join the battle?
Which one is the fastest way?

As for A, B and C:
Use the Escort mission
Then the fleet will prioritise naval battles where convoys are attacked

But being not allied with an enemy of an enemy isnt a guaranteed naval battle intervention. Sometimes the AI does weird things. This is one of them afaik.

For D
If it is your fleet and you have another on patrol duty or on search and destroy they will automatically join. Airwings of CVs will automatically join a battle when the according CV joins the battle.

But you could assign the CV airwings to the region and they will join. Once per battle. Because then they are treated as every other land based naval bomber.

For E
As long they have permission to engage the enemy and it is not only convoy raiding they will do so. You dont need the same mission to achieve that. But afaik when no convoys are involved escort fleets wont join a normal naval combat unless they are being attacked.

Correct me please if I am wrong. I use escorts fleets near to no time and I also rarely use manual stationed airwings from CVs. Normally I only use them for groundsupport on invasions with special fighter/CAS CVs

Thanks DrBolle

For ABC
So anytime there is a convoy raid, choosing the escort mission is the way to protect them.
(For protecting the Soviet convoys the purpose is to let the lend-lease from me to arrive to the soviets. If it is not possible to join to a non-allied naval battle, than who can I hunt down the subs individually? Can I catch them by patrolling?

For D
Is it the same time my fleet joins the battle in both cases?
I think naval bombers join to naval battles regarding their day/night cycle since a period of time... Am I right?

For E
Does it make difference if I am on s&d or patrol mission? I know, that the basic difference between s&d and patrol is the spotting chance and the starting number of ships in the battle, but in this case I would like to join to an existing battle.

One question I have: Is there a way you can avoid upgrading kit when you start producing a later model? Does the game allow you to start stockpiling new kit straight away instead of upgrading previous model BEFORE it starts to stockpile it?

The only way I can think of off the top of my head is you can edit the equipment list in the division templets. You'll have to do that for every templet that uses that type of equipment, so if you're talking about infantry equipment, that would probably get very tedious.

ABC
Yes, you could try to catch them by letting DDs and CVs patrol the area
CVs tend to spot and damage them and DDs are allaround SS hunter.

D
No, afaik it is different.
Like I said, CV planes assigned manually to a specific sea region will join a battle once because then they are treated as land based aircraft that join battles.
They only join once and attack once.

But if you have a CV joining a battle with assigned wings then they will attack every possible intervall (except night) as las long as the battle goes on.

But corret me please if I am wrong.

E
If a fleet encounters an enemy or is encountered by an enemy then all other fleets that could possibly join the battle try to join the battle.

BUT you must define the used equipment BEFORE you recruit the divisions because given equipment wont be replaced untill a newer equipment is given and replaces old equipment out or it is destroyed and replaced due to atrittion.
Its weird but this is how it works

Except he's talking about preventing newly researched equipment from going to an already equipped division. If a division is equipped with Eq I, and then he researches Eq !!, he should be able to modify the templet to only use Eq I, and it should not be replaced. I will admit that I have not actually tested this, but it should work this way. Then again, things don't always work the way they should in PDX games.
